| If the proposals passed (70%:30%) by the EGM include the sliding scale of the slice of the pie going to the Championship and League 1 (down to zero if the negotiations go badly) then surely the lower leagues need to act.
As I pointed out in a previous post when Championship games were shown on SKY, in 2010 and 2011, they got something like a half of the viewers that Superleague games got so, again roughly, a third of the advertising. Looking at attendances, if the figures on-line are to be believed, the Championship attracted, in 2016, 2017 and 2018, 17.9%, 23.7% and 21.6% of the attendances of Superleague, so roughly a fifth. Half the TV viewers, a fifth of supporters and yet, even in the current deal they get one tenth of the funds that Superleague get and the new deal could see them get ziltch! And apparently a good number of them signed up to this!!
What should happen? In my view there is no need for a breakaway, but the Championship needs to create a body like SLE whose sole purpose is to look after its needs and concerns. This company should be tasked ASAP with discovering if there is an appetite among all sports TV channels for a Championship RL package. If it finds none fine, I guess it has to go along with this nonsense but if there is, then it should negotiate its own deal, any money has to be better than none surely?

| My suggestion, fwiw, would be to move to a regionalized pro/semi-pro single tier.
Championship Eastern Conference (Yorkshire and Newcastle), Western Conference (Lancs, Cheshire, Cumbria, North Wales) and Southern Conference (Everything south of that, including France).
Conference winners and the second-placed team with the best record play-off for promotion.
In terms of money from television - well they’ve got two years to remodel, but part of the planning has to be for it being none. I wonder if a few might end as farm teams for SL clubs.

Definitely. It'll be interesting to see which of the chairmen who voted for this see their own clubs thrown under the bus. No way will there be any appetite for divvying up the dosh 14 ways.

| Presumably SL want Toronto and Toulouse as they are not full members and so would not get a divy.

| An absolute travesty that clubs like Wakefield and Castleford can effectively receive franchises again, after doing virtually nothing to improve their grounds since the last go-around. And who can blame them, because the money they have spent on SL players has worked out well for them. They will continue to look good on TV, as will the tens of thousands of fans at Huddersfield and Salford. If SL were really serious about quality, they would just chop it down to 8 and have done with it. These changes will hasten the demise of the game, first outside SL and then, inevitably, SL itself. It's just a money grab, pure and simple.

Yeah Trinity & Cas have done absolutely nothing since the last franchises to get new stadia built, oh wait you're completely wrong on both clubs and just a little research would reveal what both clubs have been doing and being through in that time
When you rely on the same Council (WMDC) and developments being built to fund projects, like has been done for Stadia for years up and down the Country, the question more specifically as far as Trinity is concerned, is why haven't we had the Community Stadium that was passed by the secretary of State in Downing street in 2012, for a huge warehousing development on green belt and an old Pit, under a so-called rock solid section 106 agreement. But yet only one building and 125 jobs have been created in that time but yet remarkably doesn't count to the trigger point, which is 60k sq/ft. ATM they're still at it trying to get another big warehouse passed that doesn't contribute towards the Community stadium getting built.
Seriously where else do clubs get the nearly £20m to build one, because hardly any team, except Leeds & Saints can afford to cough up that and that's before buying the land itself, which is another thing altogether.

Pray tell what each club have actually done themselves other than grasp the passing straw of someone else promising to build one for them? Plenty of clubs outside SL have invested in their grounds, improving them beyond recognition.

personally any team becoming a feeder club as you describe should be voted out of the Championship/League 1

Just churn out the photos of people in club ties on a building site again, its worked for the last 20 years. Have you still got the same shovel? It must be due a double testimonial now.

Absolutely in fact league one and Championship clubs should reject all dual reg immediately.
That said there is no way you can get any kind of concensous as shown by the way half of them voted for less money today.

| So...question is, who wan't to buy the championship more than anyone else in 2019?
Hughes can afford to and it will ease his conscience over the way he destroyed us as a SL club in 2014.......so London to go up in 2019 and then SL will be truly farcical wit the top side in the south playing their home games from a wedding venue

Much as I'd like to agree , I'd be more realistic and give everybody a season to prepare , unlike our friends in SDL
As for ' agreement ' between club owners/managers/CEO's , I am well aware , 10 years ago I attempted to get them to look at an idea , that if they had taken it up , would be giving them tens of thousands of income extra by now
