| Well as some Wire fans will know the Thursday fixtures released by Sky have upset a few people myself included and some of you championship guys have had it a while now and also not been happy.
Wires official statement ( not sure they believe it but just paying lip service to sky) is
Quote: " The Wolves open their 2014 campaign at home against close rivals St Helens on Thursday 13th February at 8pm, live on Sky Sports. The Warrington-Saints derby is the first game of 2014 to be televised live on a Thursday night following the successful trial last season, when the new time slot drew strong TV audiences with no detrimental impact on attendances '"
How this is good for shift workers (of which Warrington has an awful lot) or people with young families is beyond me?
That over with, a fans poll of your preferred time to watch a live game.
Sky like to tell us what we like nowadays so would be interested to see what people prefer and why they prefer it.

| I was tempted to answer "Thursday Evening" as I know that in another thread someone has stated that in a poll you wouldn't get any Thursday evenings being voted for...but then I realise that would be obtuse...
The best answer for me would be "No Preference", but then I am obviously in a more fortunate position than you, Yed, and those others who struggle with shift patterns and changing them; as I do not have that problem. And before anyone else mentions it, I also attend games with my daughter; who is of school age.
I think I understand the argument from both sides of the issue.
I sympathise with all those who struggle to attend matches that are scheduled for dates that they cannot change due to work committments, I more than sympathise with those who have already bought their ST's ahead of the scheduling only to find that they cannot attend as many matches as they would like (without discount or compensation), but I also see that Sky have the game over the proverbial barrel due to their financial input.
I hate to see our (and other) stadia with empty terracing and seats, and, not having Sky TV at home, I struggle to see a lot of the games that are televised across the season.
I missed a total of 2 home games last season due to holiday and family occasions and was absolutely gutted, so can only imagine how brassed off you must feel.
I am unsure what can, will or should be done, but am willing to back any campaigns to change things to make it more accessible to everyone. If it is just a case of the RFL growing a pair, or suddenly having some spine, then I am afraid I wouldn't hold your breath

| I would always say Sunday afternoon when offered the question.
That said, Friday night trips up to Headingley have just become part of my routine now.

| Why do RL fans moan about game days so much? Fans of other sports turn up on Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday without a problem Get over it.

I agree with this. Football fans turn up everyday and don't complain about going to the end of the M62 because its too far. Sometimes it ends up been somewhere like Southampton or Portsmouth on a week night as well.
For Hull we changed fixtures to Sunday for families and the attendances were approximately the same so we moved back to Friday to keep the corporates and Sky happy.

My thoughts exactly.
I'd love to know what sort of market research Mystic Yed did to determine Warrington have a lot of fans who are shift workers. Or was it the "'make something up" method?

| Ticked Friday a I enjoy them most but would have chosen 'no preference' had it been an option.
Sure Leigh RL did some research last winter and Thursdays were their most attended slot.

| sunday afternoon has always been the traditional day to watch a rugby match for me at the Giants..
sky pay the money for the rights to show the games so have to abide.
Friday night games have been around for a while now its just the thursday nights that are new and not ideal with work the next morning but not too bad if at home.
Glad the games arent on a saturday afternoon as this would clash with the horse racing!

| Saturday afternoon for me, I'm not rushing to get there after work, not rushing to get back for the last train, don't have work the next day so I can have a few beers. Sadly it's the least convenient for SKY due to the football.

| Friday for the local games. (Lancashire based)
Saturday or Sunday for the games against the Yorkshire/London/Catalan clubs, although Huddersfield and Bradford aren't too bad on a Friday night.
That should apply home and away.

| Friday is my worst night to travel to games due to the M6 or M1 from Coventry being so slow and it takes about 3 hours to travel the 100 miles to home games at Wigan and even longer to get to Hull.
But the atmosphere on these nights is better than any other, Thursdays are bad due to getting home after midnight and then having a 6.00am start at work on the friday

| As a shift worker any day can clash with my shifts so it makes little diference to me. What makes it bad is SKY shifting the game at short notice later in the season when I have changed shifts or taken holidays to attend. My favorite day is Sunday afternoon (just got used to it since we stopped playing Saturdays) although Friday nights are great under lights. Two years time I will be retired then I won't miss any games.
