Been arrested according to this: www.fanatix.com/news/billy-slate ... up/162842/

Australia's Channel Nine news twitter feed are also reporting that he has been detained by police. If he is guilty of breaking the law it will be interesting to see if they send him home or not.

Billy Slater has endured tremendous trauma following the attempt by the English cannibal, Hannibal James Lecter Graham, to devour part of Billy's ear during the 2012 NRL Grand Final. The fact that Billy could come through such a hideous experience and still play rugby league at the highest level is testimony to his character. Still, Billy Slater may well be suffering from PTSD, for which he would need treatment.

I have no doubt that someone in the pub, quite possibly an intoxicated Irish male, reignited that James Graham induced cannibal victim trauma once again, and Billy responded in self defence, like the good jockey that he is. Isn't it time that we stopped blaming the victim?

Why would you assume it was an Irish male when the incident took place in Manchester?

Taken from BBC -

Australia full-back Billy Slater was detained but released without charge by police in Manchester following a nightclub incident in the early hours of Monday morning, team management confirm.

The Australian management are satisfied that Slater was the victim of the incident, which comes as the team prepare to begin their preparations for Saturday's quarter-final against USA in Wrexham.

Going off that you would assume the night out was sanctioned unlike in Hock's case.

Well the police have finished dealing with it. Released without charge apparently, after acting in self defence. I wonder how stupid the attacker feels deciding to jump a smaller guy and finding out he's a pro rugby player icon_lol.gif

Imagine if he had been English? There would be a ten page thread by now saying he had disgraced the game etc etc.

He has been released without charge and has no case to answer, either from the police or Australia.

He tried to split up a fight and then got a slap and acted in self-defence.

Maybe England should take note of the statement that the Aussies made and learn from it.

Except Slater didn't do anything wrong so it's a considerably easier statement to make!
