2 days after the announcment and i, like many of you posters on here am still not hearing any concrete proof/reasons why we were not chosen over Wakefield!

This topic is going to get debated and debated until the cows come home, and i doubt if we will ever get a straight answer (because i dont believe that there is one!) as to why Fax were left without a licence.

But one thing that has really been grating on me is the fact that our ground The Shay was used for SL games this year, two of which were live on Skysports!!!!

i ask you this, what would Huddersfield have done if we had simply said "no", i presume that this was an agreement made between the council, the RFL and the two clubs.

Where would Huddersfield have played?

would they have used Wakefields ground???!!!!! i thnink not.

this alone is proof in itself the the RFL have just used us in their little 'game', and something must be done to compensate our club and directors for their hard earned money, and more inportantly TIME wasted jumping through hoops in the last 3 years!

The RFL must answer some big questions from powers in govenment way above their own heads to explain this mockery of a sporting body!

it will get worse before it gets better, but something has to be done!! soon aswell before our sport is literally destroyed from the bottom up.

Oh FFS turn it in.

Once Crusaders withdrew, yours was the 14th best out of 14 applications for 13 licences. Had Crusaders not withdrawn, you would have been 15th best out of 15 applications for 13 licences.

If you want an answer speak to whoever was responsible for writing Halifax's bid document, which was apparently of a laughably poor standard.

Comfortably the best summing up of the situation on these boards (although I don't know if Halifax's bid document was crap to be fair).

put yourself in Fax's position, and think how you might feel.

we're not wanting to feel sorry for ourselves, we just want answers as to why?!

quite clearly you have all these 'answers'

but wait a minute you know as much as the RFL have said! diddly squat!

i bet its lovely watching it from the other side of the fence.

Did you see Nigel Wood's interview on Boots N All yesterday?

The clubs themselves will be given feedback on the licence applications over the next couple of days. If they choose to, they can make that feedback public. The RFL are not in a position to make details of any of the applications public however, as the bids were submitted in confidence due to them containing sensitive commercial information.

Based on various tweets from journalists and others within the game, Halifax's bid was considered by the independent reviewers engaged by the RFL to be full of holes. If you've got a beef, take it up with the people the club used to put that bid together. Had they done a better job you might just have finished 13th out of 14 and been in SL from next year.

When your Chairman stops throwing his toys out of the pram, maybe he'll be able to give you the answers you want. I'd be very surprised if he does however, as doing so would probably expose the club's own incompetence.

It's a tidy little ground but hardly a place Sl is going to fall over itself to get in

To be fair, The Shay should be a good ground.

It's taken long enough to finish.

Who is to say YOU will get any answers? its for the RFL to discuss with each CLUB in turn, in private meetings to be held soon, as has been publicly stated several times in the past few days.
its then up to YOUR club if they choose to divulge the feedback given by the RFL.
you may or may not get answers, but the powers that be at your club will.
so stop bleating.

As someone said - Widnes have been through this before, with a stronger case. Also, when SL was created they wanted Widnes and Warrington to merge and then just Warrington in. They announced live on TV that both would be allowed into SL and then Wdnes were excluded. Now that was unfair as Widnes did not get relegated under the old system that prevailed immediately before SL.

Open invitation to the Board of Halifax RLFC - if they actually feel hard done to (as opposed to potential posturing for their fans) then why not publish the business plan and we can offer a critique of it?
