Can't see Huddersfield getting Greg Bird but you've gotta wonder who else they could sign at this stage if Carney's move falls through icon_eek.gif

Common sense would say you're spot on but there's never any consistency when it comes to these things. Anyway, Bird hasn't even been to court yet.

You'd hope the Giants would give their young English halfbacks a go but I can't see that. Be interesting to see who they bring in. I'd say some Aussie waste of space, but then they don't come much bigger than the one that's already sitting there stuck with no visa [size(allegedly!)[/size

coming from a Wigan fan that is laughable. if there was ever ateam in the last few years who have wasted money bringing in big names artehr tahn developing ther own youngsters it is Wiagn.

As for the comment about Carney being a waste of space. he is a risk but he is one of the potentially most exciting players in SL if he gets here.

As for Bird i do not want him. No to wife beaters at the Giants

They could go for Tim Smith? Hudds get a new halfback, Wigan get to sign Bird.

And then when Carney finally gets a Visa, we can sign him for Hull icon_lol.gif icon_wink.gif

i did wonder if it was worth trying to suggest someone doping bird and smuggling him to britain in their pocket.

Is it likely that anyone on the VT will be familiar with the illegal parrot trade?

I can't believe I let that one slide. icon_lol.gif Man like bird. Maybe Jeremy Kyle will be interested in interviewing him.

"one of the potentially most exciting...if he gets here!" I guess Todd Carney might be flattered by that?! icon_lol.gif

Everyone knows Wigan haven't maintained the excellent development and promotion of youngsters to first team rugby like they did in the 80's & 90's but something tells me the town still develops umpteen more first grade players than Huddersfield year in, year out. Anyway, If I wanna watch a bunch of kids from Wigan, I can always watch the Reserves; err, sorry - Huddersfield.

Correct.

Last season the only Academy products to play in the 1st team were Goulding, Hock, Hansen, O'Loughlin, Prescott, O'Carroll, Colbon, J.Tomkins, S.Tomkins, Coyle, McIlorum, Mossop and Tuson. icon_rolleyes.gif
