| I can see a few low-scorers this first week.
New rule interpretations and referee directives usually catch the players out, which will slow things down. From what I gather, the new balls haven't gone down very well either.

Yep, the clamp down at the ptb plus, the "advantage" from any knock on/ forward pass, will do nothing to improve the spectacle of the game.
Can't wit for kick off though !

| Widnes +8 to me seems a good shout also FC +10. I thought KR might have a start but I guess home advantage put an end to that.

I think London will be much improved from the start of last season.
Fc could go great guns this year although they have never matched up to their potential in the recent past.

I agree I think London will be a much better team. My reasoning was I think they will both be close games so I went for the teams with the start.

| Surely Wigan -20 is like buying money against Salford?
That's where I'll be going anyway.

| Wigan.
Salford will have some inexperienced players in their seventeen and on paper a weak front row. Wigan should dominate the forwards. Our back line has some good finishers in Broughton and Williams but will they get enough ball. Their defence is average and I expect them to be tested by a strong Wigan backline. Weve lost the likes of Patten, Anderson, Paleasina, Moon, S Gleeson and only recruited Martin Gleeson and Dixon from Saints.

| Saints, London, Hull and Wigan (only because it's likely to be an inexperienced Salford)

| I think Wire will be my only bet this weekend looking at those lines. They look the class of the competition this year and 18 is quite a conservative handicap against a Cas side who shipped points for fun last year.
Wigan should cover as well given Salford's issues, however, I feel they're a significantly weaker team this season so will stay away in this opening week.
