| I'm currently in Brisbane and can't believe the amount of coverage Rugby League gets in the national papers. I bought the Telegraph and Mail over the weekend and there was over 6 pages of Rugby League, both NRL, National and a small bit of Super League.
Stark contrast to our press back home where you're lucky to get one column on the weekends game. Unless there is something negative to write about!
What I'd give for a page of coverage a day back home!!

| On the other hand how much soccer do they print? League is thier main sport, I know what you mean though I have just had 5 weeks in Australia & even in Victoria & south Aus the TV news had plenty of league stories & even European soccer but no mention of European super league even though our season was underway.

Too right. UK papers give more coverage to Super Bowl than they do RL.

| Soccer has actually had a lot of coverage. Brisbane Roar have just won the A league with over 50k attending their last match plus about 2.5 pages in the papers.
Certainly give more equal coverage to sports here than back in the UK.

| Sport as a whole gets more coverage in Oz. The entire nation is sports mad. Over here if it's not football it won't get any daily coverage. Football has a complete monopoly on the media. You just have to watch Sky Sports News for an hour to see that

| Wait until it gets to State of Origin time. Half the Courier-Mail is dedicated to the Maroons, front and back.

| I have been living in Brisbane for 9 months now and the amount of league coverage is great although when i visited Melbourne there wasn't half as much coverage with AFL being the page filler there. Soccer in Australia doesn't normally get much coverage i think the average crowd the Brisbane Roar got before the playoffs and final was only around 7,000.

| TBF those are not national papers they are State papers. The only national paper we have is The Australian and the RL coverage is no better than the other main sports. In NSW and Q'land the papers are full of RL but try to find a RL story in a WA or Victoria paper.
It's like comparing the Yorkshire post or Hull Daily Mail to the Sun or Times.
Soccer is a joke sport in this country as is RU.

| At least we are all reaping the awards of the picket of the Telegraph offices, Rugby League is barely out of the paper these days.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.
