| on todays sunday roast show was talking about what a great impact burgess had on the nrl, i think even calling him the best in his position in the nrl
also mentioned how good morley was
said more of englands best players should be in the nrl.
this gives SL a whole lot more credibility with its players able to do well in the nrl
it also will improve englands performances against australia as english players realize that nrl players make loads of mistakes too, and they adapt mentally to the nrl

We don't need to see Burgess play well in the NRL to give him credibility - he earns credibility by turning Slater inside out in an England shirt and by being the best young player in SL.
Anyone with a brain could see the likes of Ellis, Burgess and Morley were amongst the best in their position in the world before any time spent in the glorious NRL. Of course, that precludes Gould.

Correct. Gould champions his own opinion as fact.

| Burgess final year with Bradford was really ordinary even allowing for injury.
He is NOT the best backrower in the NRL and the media beat up his case beyond a Joke just like Gareth (who) last year.
It sells papers and will not make any difference come this years 4 nations.

| I like a lot of Rugby League points he makes, but when it comes to English RL the guys a plonker.
No, SL isnt as good as the NRL but everyone in the English team would walk into the NRL, simple.

| Flanagan always had potential, I think the fact that he went over there and worked extremely hard is probably underplayed too. Still, he wasnt in the top 4 backrowers at Wigan last year probably

Mark Flanagan had something about him in the few games I saw him in the First team, but it was too little too late. In defence of Wigan though, Flanagan never showed too much promise in the U20's that would suggest he was capable of playing in the first team, never mind the NRL! We had other back row forwards who looked and were much better. Lee Mossop was offered a deal at Canterbury Bulldogs before he signed a five year deal with Wigan proving my point.

| After watching Saints game against Catalans I don't think anyone could have suggested Super League is in any way comparible to the NRL. It's like a different species is playing the game.

Yup, it must be hard not to mock those poor Aussies when you see the Big Red Machine operating.

| there is alot of players from england who could make it big time in aus.
from my club
sam tomkins
sean o'loughlin
joel tomkins
lee mossop
would all excel at NRL level. Im sure each club has a good 4 or 5 english talent who could take the NRL by storm.

| Its a strange beast the NRL, when you think players like Chris Thorman played out there, yet came back to only reasonable success in the superleague.
I think that its a different type of player suited to the nrl than superleague, Gaz Ellis for instance was basically a defence machine who wasnt noted for his ball skills particularly, Flanaghan the same.
On the other hand, you have guys like Mick Dobson, or Pat Richards, not exactly superstars in the NRl but seem to thrive in Superleague.
As for Mr Gould, id give it a week or so, or until a Brit in the NRL drops a pass before he is back to calling Superleague park football, the man just likes getting some publicity. British lads playing for Sydney clubs will be the reason that NSW are losing the SOO next!
