| Reading a piece about Morley in the free ‘Sport’ paper on the tube this morning, he said he would swap all his club honours for a win on Saturday. I know that many people on these boards are club first and I am perfectly happy with that but for me the biggest days of the year are when Great Britain and now England play – in particular against the Aussies
I’ve been following Rugby League and GB/England since 1984 and I haven’t seen us beat them in a final or a test series... 27 years of hurt (I know some here have more)
So, reading Morley’s piece, I thought what would an England win mean to me. I know it’s just a sport but it does feel like more than that. So...
1. The day I got married
2. The day my wife was awarded her DPhil
3. The day I got engaged
4. The day I was told I was fully discharged after 7 years of cancer checkups (a bit selfish but self preservation and all that)
5. The day that England beat Australia in the 4 Nations Final
So, there it is... it would be the 5th happiest day of my life (there have been plenty of other good days but I have to say that an England win would be burned into my memory)
You may call me sad or you may agree but I can’t wait for Saturday

| Yes Dunbar you are sad.......but in a very good way.
It will be a very happy day and will rank among my best days watching rugby League possibly the best.
...............but it doesn't come close to birth of son or wedding day.

| having travelled to Australia for the 2008 World Cup, I have certainly been through a lot of lows supporting England, so the day that I actually experience an "England high" will certainly be at the top of my rugby league memories (along with Saints winning the cup in 1996). Not that I am even daring to dream that England will win tomorrow!

| I've been watching the game since 1979, that is a long time to not see us win a series! It would mean a lot!!!

| Although I am a passionate Australian and really want to win every time.
I hope England can win or come close.
The game needs a strong English side and I am sure it will mean far more to the game in England than it will to Australia.
Good Luck, may the best team win.

1981 for me, you old get!
I've never been to a game where England or GB have beaten the Aussies.
This game means more to me than it really should.
And I don't care.
Will I cry if we win, possibly.

| Been watching since the early 60s but only seen us win on TV (1970) and the World Cup (1972).
Seen us get blown away in lots of 3rds Tests though. The one that really stands out for me was 1979 at Headingley though. That was when the gulf became apparent (even though with decent selection I think we could have won that series).

I know what you are saying and if we lose on Saturday then of course life goes on
However... I’ve done a few things in my life that I am proud of both at work and sporting/socially and I am lucky to have great family and friends etc and they give me great satisfaction, but from a sense of pure happiness I just think that win would feel so good
There are more important things in life than Rugby League but for me it is a great distraction from the everyday grind and after 27 years I want it to be a successful one too

| I have been watching RL since 1976 with the CC final being my first game when Saints beat Widnes.
If we can do it tomorrow this will probably mean as much as any of Saints wins in finals,in fact come to think of it, it would be better to be honest.

| My first memory of following England / GB was the Ashes Down Under in 1988 (when I was 7) getting up at silly o'clock to watch the games with my old man (great days).
My biggest highs to date are:
1994 Test at Wembely - Jonathan Davies try.
1997 Test at Old Trafford - Andy Farrells try.
Our win in the 1st test in Huddersfield in 2001, when Paul Sculthorpe has 1 of his finest hours.
Our win in Sydney in 2006
I think my biggest low is the shellacking in 2002 when we played Australia for a mid season test and lost 64 - 10.
Or possibly the 3rd Ashes Test at Elland Road in 1994 when the entire crowd almost walked out at half time.
I dare to dream (even pray) of a victory tomorrow but the Aussies will raise their game to another level.
What would it mean to me.... the biggest sporting result of my life and probably 1 of the biggest results in the sports history, espcially at a time when English RL needs such a massive boost in terms of PR in a country dominanted by Football and RU.
Come on England!!
