| Have Sky changed the way they present the live games?
This week they have spent considerable time looking into the crowd, watching the coach and playing replays whilst the game is live.
On Thur we missed Leemings try, last night we missed a short kick off and subsequent action, plus nearly missed another try.

| It’s been like this for years. It does my head in so much I sent an email to Sky Sports about it about five years ago but I never got a reply and nothing has ever changed.
They are obsessed with showing the coaches’ faces, or a fat bird with no teeth and a size 5XL replica jersey on, or a replay of something we’ve just bloody seen - all while live play is going on.
How do they not realise (is it the producer of the show in the studio?) that none of us want to see any of this whilst live play is going on?
It drives me up the wall!

| I think they must put all the trainee directors in the chair for RL games. It seems to have got worse this season, by all means change the camera views but only those pointing at the pitch.

| Just watching the NRL and they show replays in a second screen in the corner. Maybe this is something Sky could do.

| Been like this for ages but seems to have got a lot worse. As Reffy says, I presume the use rugby league as a testing ground for new directors.

| Does seem to have increased this year, what was the guy called that retired the same time at Eddie at Sky? That change might have something to do with it.
You can get away with it more with certain sports like cricket and tennis (the 782 tines you see Judy bloody Murray during an Andy Murray match) but RL there’s too much happening especially with the introduction of the shot clock to speed up the breaks in play.

| The shot clock really is a gimmick too far. There is more messing about & standing about waiting at scrums now than ever !

| it's awful and is making me not want to watch games on sky anymore as i am sick to death of seeing the coach of whichever team has just had the ball after every set of 6 or sometimes 3, we know what they look like and by all means record them then show replays of their reaction if its interesting but to see 30% of someones head 87 times a game when they arent doing anything is pathetic. i get the crowd shots while there is an injury or something but not while the game is going ahead
sort it out sky for god sake as your the only live games we get to see !

| I've posted about this before, does my nut in! It's always happened, but is even worse now as The Printer says, since this new guy came in it's been terrible. In one of the Hull FC matches a few weeks ago Albert Kelly was just about to score and they cut away to the crowd so we didn't see him actually touch the ball down. It could be understandable if it's someone cutting their teeth at the job, but it's not getting any better.

| It seems that Sky do not have a director who knows how to shoot RL. It seems the directors they have are not used to the pace of the game compared with other sports or possibly lack an understanding of the sport and as such have a tendency to be unprepared with their camera choices

100% disagree, the wasting time before scrums in recent seasons was becoming ridiculous, its no coincidence that games are now finishing earlier

| I also don’t like the constant zooming in at the ruck. You can’t see the attacking structure or the defensive line.
Just leave the shot at the wide view.

The NRL do this well, with a shot wide enough to see the ruck and defensive line and they also have a very wide angle that they use for kicks.

My son mentioned this a few weeks ago. He said that when Sky covered the Challenge cup matches they kept the wide shot and it was much better for viewing.

| It seems SKY directors (of RL events) have this weekend off.......no games Saturday or Sunday this week.......
