Don't think it's that at all. Wire have extensive injury problems, and it's only natural for Wigan to want to retaliate.

Just hope that Warrington don't pin their hopes on the CC, putting all their eggs in one basket so to speak. The disappointment of losing the CC and missing out on the play-offs would be immeasurable.

That said, on tonight's other performances, I think Cas are the team sliding towards the top eight trapdoor.

It seems to be becoming wide open again;

For example, for Bradford to make the playoffs;

Quote: Fully "1) If Bulls lose one single game, they can't make the playoffs.

2) If the Bulls win all their games then it will down to other teams games. What other teams need to do to avoid being caught by us:

Cas

Have to agree, I think 122 points conceded in their last two games (albeit against very decent opposition) suggests they have problems. Only the bottom two have worse points differences and the next two fixtures at home to Wigan and at Harlequins look tough asks on current form.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...:

Both teams tonight were shot with 20 mins to go. The semi finals clearly take a lot out of teams involved and the winners have Wembley on their minds.

Can see both Wire and Giants losing both games before Wembley.

One of the worse games I've seen on sky this year.

Wire were beaten before they kicked off.

Passionless, not at all committed.

They deserve everything they get if there putting all the eggs in one basket, infact - they should be fined for bringing the game into disrepute.

I feel sorry for the likes of Lee Mitchell and Cooper who worked there asses of once again.

Not a great image that game for RL

The players were injured, that's hardly bringing the game into disrepute!

" if you have nothing good to say about rugby league, then dont say anything at all "- ces mountford:

It's the worst game ive seen since Salford vs Catalans 2007 I think? Full of mistakes and it was a complete mismatch. Who cares anyway, aslong as we win at Wembley icon_cool.gif

If they were going to make a miraculous recovery for next week I see no reason why they wouldn't have played tonight, we needed the win. Smith has been open about the fact that many of the players would not have played last week if it had been a normal league game. Clarke has a groin strain, Hicks broken fingers, King a hamstring pull etc.

Didn't stop him taking the p1ss outta Tomkins though.

That would have been interesting tonight.

Agreed, another match up between King and Tomkins would have been good to see!

What an over-the-top reaction! Wire started quite brightly, and the game could have been quite different if we'd scored from the Andersons' break early in the match. We had a bad 15 minutes when Wigan got on a roll, but the second half was more or less even. The players were slapping backs and encouraging each other throughout. Not a great performance, it's true, but even John Kear agreed they could not be faulted for effort.

Weren't Wigan missing seven players?

A fact overlooked, again.

Possibly so, but I'd say they still had a much stronger team overall than Wire.
