| Seems rlSky plan to trialrl this during the football off season beginning on 21st May with apparently Salford v Bradford. Presumably this would be instead of Saturday games.
An absolute pain in the backside from a spectating point of view but as a viewer, better to move away from Saturday games when Sky are going to be all over Test Cricket and now Formula 1? Viewing figures tell you how much difference being on Sky Sports 1 makes and this perhaps the best way of maintaining that.
Thoughts?

| I agree with you on the TV viewing point. I look forward to MNF and would love MNRL during the off season.
However the thought of rocking on down to a ground to watch RL live on a Monday night would just be weird. I hate Friday games when it's dark with a passion and Monday would be even worse as you would have been at work all day and wouldn't have the appealing prospect of a lie in coming.

| No thanks! Work commitments would rule out my attendance at Monday night games.

the last thing that concerns Sky is what the fans think - it's bums on seats in the living room that counts..
MNLF = Viewing figures
end of.

| It's a trial, if it works they keep it, if it doesn't, get rid.

| Great from an armchair fan perspective but if I was a fan of a SL club I would be concerned about its potential impact on attendances. But as a TV viewer I say go for it and screw the clubs !

| During the football off season i don't see why we don't all play Saturday 3pm. The non televised games anyway.

Because in the modern world tons of people work on Saturdays for one. I don't see anything broken about Sunday afternoons so why try and fix it.

| Wouldn't a compromise be to show the game on Monday night but as a delayed broadcast from some time over the weekend?

Doesn't seem to affect football though.

| I don't mind the idea. It's got it's pros and cons as any day would (and in typical RL fashion the fans have concentrated on the cons).
Pros - Sky will focus on us more in summer as opposed to being stuck in the middle of several other sports broadcasts. Potentially more viewers and this more money in the future.
Cons - Attendances may take a hit. With work that day, it suffers the same issues as Fridays. But with work the day after as well, it has more issues.
If they were to do this, I think it would be in the game's best interests to have the games local, ie Salford/Widnes/Saints/Wire/Wigan or Leeds/Bradford/Hudds/Wakey/Cas. Plenty of combos there to keep you through summer.

| Have to say it would be awful for me. Already difficult to attend evening KOs after work. Mondays would be impossible.
If they start messing around then i really would have to consider the value of getting a season ticket
