As per usual there seem to be a number of threads suggesting moving Millenium Magic from Cardiff again.

Since I didn't go (not having a team and not enjoying sport as a neutral) far be it from me to tell you what to do with it.

But I'm going to anyway.

If you like Cardiff enough, move the date by one week. This will place it in the rest week of the 6 nations.

Now that Union has sorted out the collapsing scrums, I've been watching it again and am entertained by it. However, League is still entertaining. Wales is an international RU watching nation and the 6N week off is a pain in the posterior. By shifting Millenium Magic to the off week complements the most loved home internationals tournament, instead of competing with it.

You may get some extra locals giving it a go if they don't have to choose between Wales RU and lots of League.

A bit of mass advertising wouldn't go amiss either. Stuff the papers in Wales. They hate league. An advert or 2 on ITV Wales would go miles further.

A local team competing would be a further draw.

Wrexham is not local.

We may have no choice, Murrayfield wasn't available for this years' magic date, it is possible the millenium and/or murrayfield could be unailable for an opening weekend next year

How about move the MM back 1 week next year..
Have an unequal amout of teams in the SL thus enabling the WCC to be the main event on the 2nd day of the weekend.
Just a thought.

Once again , why is it people seem unable to do basic maths , an uneven number of teams and an uneven number of matches doesn't work

An unequal amout of teams in SL would enable the champions of SL to play their World Club Challenge match as the Final game of MM next season.

So who and when do they play their MM match ?

The champions of Europe, against the Champions of Australia/NZ playing in the last game of the last day of MM. Its not that hard to understand what he is trying to say!

So they miss out on a game then ?

Ever heard of "the Bye"

Starbug, Brenio is saying they would miss out on a SL match BUT they would play their WCC match at MM. They could then make up their match in hand later in the season.

So the SL Champions get a ' bye ' but the rest don't ?

So who would they play ?

A league with an uneven number of teams is played on a round robin basis, same as with leagues with an even number of teams.
Only difference is that on any given weekend, ONE team gets a SINGLE rest weekend when the other teams are playing.
Not getting what you find wrong about all this.
