| any games played today, anything postponed due to weather
doncaster drew 16 all with a youthful hull fc side (only 3 players who could be considered 1st team regulars turned out). good crowd though - about 1700, and an impressive queue outside the ticket office beforehand

| Featherstone by common consent comprehensively outplayed Wakefield in a meaningless warm-up game/further piece of evidence that Fev are well up to making a mark in SL (delete as applicable depending on whether you're a Wildcats or Rovers fan).

Fairly poor attendance though.

I see you're a London fan. Given you managed less than half that number for a Challenge Cup game against Fev despite the visitors bringing several hundred fans, I'm not sure why you think a 2.5k home gate for a Championship team in a January friendly is so disappointing.

He may be a London fan but he is 100% correct. If Fev have ambitions to be in SL then their supporters need to show they have the appetite for supporting them in SL. Turning up to see their team play against SL opposition would be a good start.

We're the worst run club in SL, why would you want to compare yourselves to us? Fev people are constantly banging the drum about how they're ready for SL. I don't see it. That has nothing to do with the shower of a club that I support.

| Fev deserve a shot at Super League, the only area that they really fail on is attendances, so what.
I'm a Halifax fan by the way.

| And how can you sustain the club in SL with 2k home gates without a very wealthy benefactor? Hull KR struggle with 8k crowds.

Featherstone's gates have been edging steadily upwards over the last couple of years, especially in those games where there is clearly something to play for. It's precisely the fact that there has been no upwards path for the better Championship teams in recent seasons that has led to even the better teams in the division struggling for support; there are plenty of current SL teams (not just London) who would be struggling for crowds if they found themselves in the Championship with no short-term prospect of making it back to SL.

We compare ourselves to you because you are allowed to continue in SL and we (and other potential aspirants from the Championship) haven't been. And we compare ourselves to you because attendances are the rod used to beat us with, yet London are allowed to continue in a ground that can't actually hold a decent crowd, whereas Featherstone have made a concerted effort, including significant contributions from volunteer supporters, to improve our ground in line with supposed SL standards.

I agree, but I suspect they'll 'do a Leigh'.

Well if you compare yourselves to a club with no fans/sponsors that nearly goes bust every few years you aren't much good to SL. You need to prove you are able to add something to the comp, not just be better than the worst club in the league.
