| I saw a piece on TV last night about the amount of money Championship Football clubs get compared to League 2 clubs and wondered just what happens in rugby league.
Anyone know what finance do each club gets from the RFL / TV deals etc in......
SL , Championship and Championship 1

| Wigan get £2m to help pay existing contracts. Why? It's just traditional for them to beg for extras.
The rest of Super League get £900,000 per season. I think Championship clubs get £2,500 per season and Championship 2 sides are given certain amounts of free hot dogs dependent on league positions.

I believe the criteria for free hotdogs will change in 2012 when franchising rules are applied. You must have a hotdog trolley with a minimum capacity of 1000 hotdogs (just in case Nigel turns up at a game), turnover of at least 1million pounds, the operator must have taken part in the World Hotdog Eating championships in one of the last three years and it must have wheels so you can place it one of the 'designated' development regions should the operator go bust.
Hotdog operations need to expand after all. Viva la franchise !

| I think what you can read into this thread , apart from how little most fans know about the workings of our great games governing body , is how little the RFL really do for those clubs outside of super league . Quite simply how can those at red hall fairly represent every club in the three divisions when they are the same people who are behind super league europe , who's aims are not those of protecting or even helping clubs outside of super league but getting the best deal for clubs within there "elite" division .
Face facts Red Hall and the RFL do not truly represent all of rugby league they are at present blinkered to all but super league .

And that firmly illustrates the narrow and self-centred thinking of many championship. The RFL is responsible for rugby league across the country at all levels: professional (the one-division SL); semi professional (the two-division champioships) and amateur (from the top level just below the semi-pro game all the way down to under-8s.) But you, like so many disgruntled and delusional semi pro fans think that the game consists only of the professional and semi-pro levels, which you delude yourself are one single professional level with three divisions, while totally ignoring the vast majority of rugby league clubs.

You are quite correct , the Semi pro fans think of themselves the most , the SL fans think of themselves most , and by and large the amauer club fans think of the amatuer game the most
Welcome to human nature , but dont pretend you or the owners of the clubs are any different , so just like us , you are narrow minded and self centred , and the RFL have their opinions on who is the most important part of the game , and act accordingly

which is all why you have Governance structures. what riles me is the moaning on here of people who don't realise or bother to find out that their club is represented in those decision making structures...we get a blanket view of 'the RFL don't do this', or 'the RFL don't do that' etc. and then a general moan.
Now i'm not saying the Governance structures in our game are the best they can ever be and I would say that there is a need for more transparancy - but i am very sure they are better than other sports in this country.

But they are the best they ever HAVE been I'd say, which is a massive step in the right direction.

I agree - you can always make tweaks/improvements - but the structures in place are very good and vastly better than many other sports

they must struggle to sleep at night in the knowledge that a tiny minority think that and do not take them seriously.
actually, it kind of proves the point that it's well governened...

If changing your own rules to suit certain clubs is good governance , then you are right , they are perfect
