Twice tomkins did this.

One one occasion he held mcguire arm so he was unable to fully clear the play the ball.

On the next one with sinfield, he was tackled, he rolled over so sinfield was underneath him......and then simply layed on top of sinfield with his arms out as if to say ''come on ref, penalty'' there was nothing actually to stop him getting up and playing the ball, he just layed on sinfield.

this type of thing happens accross the league, but no one apart from wigan utilise it as a specific tactic.

I noticed fielden and many other wigan players constantly grabbing hold of the leeds tacklers and trying to entangle themselves with the defenders after the tackle was complete.

From a team that has built it's success this season on cynical spoiling tactics, it's no suprise.

The ending was poetic justice.

In general its creeping into the game, lets get it eradicated.
Tom Briscoe: fantastic player, but he should be in for an academy award on some performances

Well one things for sure, he won't try it next time Joel Tompkins tackles him.

Kicking the little guys when they're on the floor is about that scumbag's level. Fingers crossed he'll make the Four Nations tour, just a shame Willie Mason won't be around to show him up as the windy fooker he is.

All players do it, watch any game be it at the ground or on the telly and look at any player who's being tackled. If they've got a hand free, they'll grab the defender somewhere or other, or wrap a limb around to make it look like they're being held down. All this fuss over one player is ludicrous

Many players do it, not all...and some do it constantly, not just when there is a sneaky chance.

Mind, its no better than tantruming at the ref or TJ which many players from "top" clubs have done for years.

Much worse than a professional foul obviously.

If maguire and sinfield hadn't put their hands in in the first there'd be nothing to trap. Also, are you seriously conceding that neither leeds player could force their hand out in any case?

Well, they probably would have conceded a penalty because no doubt that cheating Tomkins lad would have let go of the ball to try and win a penalty for being a ball steal.

Add to that his voluntary tackle in the 2nd half?

At the end of the day, all teams will do whatever it takes to win. It's up to the refs to punish players for anything which they think is illegal.

The main thing that annoyed me on Sunday night was the antics of the Leeds players infront of the East stand at the end of the game. Inciting the crowd like that is all a bit embarrassing and shows a lack of class, namely Senior, Delaney and fat Ali. I can understand a celebration after a try, but it was beyond a joke on Sunday. The game was over, the players had shook hands and they were still at it.

I agree but Leeds fans have no right commenting. You guys stick up for ryan bailey so you can't have the cheek call another player a windy ............

Tomkins probably fell asleep, its takes that long for Leeds players to get off the tackled player that sometimes I could swear that it's Sky showing it in slow motion.
