Well he was definitely committed to the tackle, definitely no direct contact with the head, I think even a yellow would be harsh to be honest but I guess with it been on the 80 minute mark it didn`t really matter anyway.

It makes no difference with the disciplinary panel, if anything it goes for Pauli as they take the on field punishment as part of the punishment so you might just see a "Card sufficient". That said, even if he had put it on report I doubt he would of picked a ban up for it.

I think my main point is this referee gets so many big decisions wrong. The sin binning in the first half was a joke as well. If he was a doctor he'd be struck off!

Neither yellow was a yellow imo even though letter of law would justify the inept ref. I have more problem with both of those decision than the Pauli red. Thought Hicks last night and our friend tonight had very mixed 80s. That's being polite.

Yep your spot on, nothing wrong with a shoulder charge, coupled with a swinging arm, proper text book tackle.

If I had ever been good enough to play at that level I would have been delighted to make a tackle like that! It wasn’t late it wasn’t high it wasn’t a shoulder charge & it put Abdull flat on the floor. What more could a coach ask for (& I’m a rovers fan) also neither of the yellows were even a penalty I thought the ref got a lot wrong tonight, not his best game.

The tragedy is it wasn't his worst either! The guys incompetent
