| Following Toulouse Olympique's thrashing of Dewsbury yesterday, all eyes were on the Leigh Centurion vs York City Knights clash today. It would determine places three and four on the Championship ladder. The game did not disappoint, as it was decided by one field goal. York City defeated Leigh 24-23, and moved into third place on the ladder leaving Leigh in fourth place.
The next round will be important, but now Toronto Wolfpack has the first place secured and looks likely to join Super League in 2020. Its only challenge will likely be Toulouse.

There is a very strong chance York will finish 2nd, tolouse at Fev next week and that is no easy task
Toronto deserve to go up and I hope they do - no good them hanging around in the champ, we need to know if RL can cope with the transatlantic toing and frowing

Fair observation. I didn't see the last round schedule till now.
Next week York play Halifax and are likely to win based on current form. Therefore Toulouse must win at Featherstone to retain second place. Otherwise York will overtake them.
Leigh are likely to lose against Toronto and thus they will be fifth if Featherstone win, fourth if Toulouse wins. So I expect that Leigh fans will be barracking for Toulouse against Featherstone.

| Cokey it doesn't matter, we are definitely the most 'out of form' team in the top 5, and apart from our 1st half at struggling Rochdale, we haven't played well since at home to Batley 5 weeks ago.

Ha Ha, that is ridiculous. Why is he protected like he is ?
I guess Jean doesn't 'bite' when we mention Catalans or Toulouse, because he doesn't really care if they win or lose, unlike us TRUE fans.
He's just an 'Ozzy' (sic) who wants non english teams to do well in the 'so called' English/British league.

That seems a little strange, does it not? You are insinuating that someone on this forum who is not a mod must have secret powers over the forum.

| Toulouse's gutsy come from behind win at Featherstone 24-26 (five tries to four) after trailing 18-8 at half time, has secured Toulouse second place.
With Leigh likely to lose at Toronto, York is likely to secure third place and Leigh fourth place.
Given Toulouse's gaining of home ground advantage (except against Toronto), and their strong performances throughout the season, it is likely that the final to decide promotion will be between Toronto and Toulouse. Although Toronto has a very strong team, with Ricky Leutele and Chase Stanley normally in the centres, and a strong pack of forwards, Toulouse probably has the superior spine. The final could even come down to goal kicking, with Toulouse full back Mark Kheirallah normally accurate, though not always.
So while Toronto is a deserved favourite for promotion at the end of this season, one cannot completely write off the chances of Toulouse scoring an upset and getting promotion.
In my opinion, though the promotion of Toulouse to Super League would be a wonderful thing for rugby league in France, I worry that if Toulouse wins the final then the backers of Toronto may get tired of supporting a perennially failed effort in the crunch game. That would doom the exciting plans for expansion in North America. So my preference is for Toronto to win the promotion this year and Toulouse to win next year. I am also praying that London will beat Wakefield next Sunday and stays in Super League. If this scenario pans out we will have a fantastic international Super League competition in 2021.

Look Cappy, cut the crap.We just want Toronto to be promoted and get rid of them, and let SL deal with the expansion project. Seeing that you're an Aussie, what is the relevance of your post anyway?
