| Blake Austin's NRL season is over. He will soon be at Warrington replacing the very ordinary and overpaid half back Tyrone Roberts whom the club had foolishly signed. Blake Austin is being anticipated by some of the Warrington faithful as a kind of messiah, who can lead the club to silverware next year.
However people are not aware that Blake Austin, while a brilliantly evasive and speedy runner of the football, sometimes has brain explosions -- like kicking on the third tackle when all other attacking options have not yet been tried, and kicking over the dead ball line or into the arms of an opposing defender. He will do some good for Warrington, but will make some bad mistakes. Which is why he has been up and down at Canberra, and why Canberra have released him.

| You'd think Warrington were already well served in that department by Kevin Brown

To advise SL fans, and especially Warrington fans, not to create false hopes that Blake Austin is going to be another Wally Lewis or Brett Kenny. He is not in their class.
Having said that he will brighten up the Sky viewing space with his dashing style of running the football. He is definitely superior to both Kevin Brown and Tyrone Roberts.

In what department? Neck Length? Brown has offered very little since he joined Wire. They have been very unlucky in that they found a great half that was a complete idiot and another great half back that cannot be bothered to play. Hopefully with Austin he will have come over to play.

Not many people are in that class
Blake Austin is a fantastic player who has the ability to do brilliant things with the ball...the kind of stuff other half backs wouldn't dream to try. Yes every now and again things don't come off, but he's an exciting player and will be good for SL
A massive upgrade on Tyrone Roberts and will make Wire a far better team next year when he joins them imo

| Think us Wire fans are expecting a player with a strong running game, that will create opportunities, not a half that will boss us round the field with a good kicking game to go with it.
I actually am a bit worried about the balance of our halves next year, not sure Brown & Austin will be a great pair. I believe Brown has been given another year, but would prefer a more organising half alongside Austin really.

Why have the Morris brothers never played for England? Why has Trent Hodkinson or Darcy Lussick never played for England? Are they no good either?

| Going off what i have seen SL is tailor made for Austin's game. I wish Leeds had signed him.

The names you have listed have never shown an interest. Given that Warringtons latest messiah has already turned out for Portugal, I just assumed he wasnt adverse to turning out for a mid tier rugby league nation.

Mick Vella turned out for Malta and was also an Australian international

| Austin may well decide to throw his hat in with England once he moves over. I think he and Widdopp could be a very good partnership.
Austin's a bit suspect in defence sometimes and doesn't control a game very well, but he has the capability to carve up any team on his day. I genuinely hope he becomes a star in SL, as we want all the star bquality we can get.
