| We have to keep him as national coach for another 4 years to the next World Cup for me.

| I don't understand how the new set up with GB will work though.
If Bennett stays as England coach then will they pick someone else for GB, or just use a panel of the home nation coaches?
If GB just equals English players then what's the point, whilst if its a mix of players then it just losing an international window where England could be developing.
I'm sure someone at the RFL has a master plan....

| Can't see him being interested in staying (think it was all about this WC in Aus) especially for 4 years. The coach going forward should. R one who we're looking at being in charge by 2021.
Also whilst the defence has improved you can't ignore the struggles in attack and to score points. If an English coach had failed to score s single point in a WC Final he'd be getting A LOT of stick right now

| For every decision he made that strengthened us, he’s made another to cancel it out. Tom Burgess, Bateman (as a centre), Lomax for starters. We’ve made strides forward and nearly won a World Cup attacking one side of the field. If I was a young player playing 1, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 13 I’d be training the house down as there’s a position there for the next World Cup to claim.

| I reckon what let him down is his support team, who perhaps didn't have enough confidence/belief to push forward those in form SL players who were ultimately left out of the team and squad.

| Can’t see him staying on.
As much as fans of other clubs would hate it, it’s got to be Shaun Wane. He knows how to win without much creativity, there’s no one else that could do as good a job with the players (or rather lack of) available.

Dont agree. I think selecting the same group of players regualrly strengthened England by the end. Dropping in a few last minute in-form playera may have disrupted the team and the spirit in the camp.
He also didnt just select the usual names. Tomkins would have been there if he had. He was robbed off two of our best players in Hardaker and then O'Loughlin today unfortunately we dont have players of their quality in reserve.

Have to agree there. I’m not Bennett’s biggest fan, as most in here know, but we can hardly blame him for Hardaker being a prize pr1ck. Him and SOL in that team and I think we win.

I’ve got a lot of time for McDermott, more than many Leeds fans I think, but just think the job would be perfect for Wane. Managing that pack, and motivating players above their level, I just think he could be more effective than McDermott in an international environment.

And Australia scored just 6, it was that kind of game.
IF he wanted to stay, that would be good news, if not, you may get Powell (assuming that he would want the gig) and outside those 2, you would be making a backward step.

If only Powell and Wane could work together! Those 2 working together I think could be the ultimate England coaching team. There’s nothing that, between them, they haven’t got to get the best out of the squad.
