| As JM had been charged with contrary conduct we can expect a ban, if of NRL levels it will be 8 to 12 weeks.
So, who’s going to winger given we don’t have another in the squad? Probably Percival?

| I should think so too - that was the most obvious example of a bite you're ever likely to see; makes his idiocy even more annoying, because he's been our best player thus far.

| If someone sticks an unwanted appendage in your mouth then a natural reaction is to get them to move it by biting.
If a player moves their head into a position to deliberately bite someone than that's a different thing all together.
I'd say there's reasonable mitigation that this is a case of the former rather than latter, hence was it fair & reasonable for Robbie to stick his arm in Jermaine's mouth without the violated party retaliating ?

| Sorry, but I can't agree. Farrah illegally pushed his forearm into JMs face. The wrong person has been charged.

| Unfortunately, natural justice is rarely mitigation for this type of act; I agree he was being given a facial - which happens several times in every single game of RL - but I'm not aware that the rules have been amended to say that in such circumstances, the victim is entitled to bite lumps out of the aggressor.
I also wager that if the roles were reversed, nobody would be defending Farah; there would be indignant outrage about biting being the lowest of the low and he'd be branded a disgusting filthy grub etc etc.

| No way was that a bite - anyone who knows or has followed Jerry's career will 100% know that this is just not in his character. In every game he gets rough treatment but never reacts - he rather just gets up and runs harder next time. If Farrar wants to put his forearm in his face and move it across his mouth then what does he expect to happen - perhaps some contact with teeth was made albeit minimal due to the mouth guard worn but not a bite. Poor show from Farrar if you ask me and will be amazed should any sort of disciplinary action be levied on Jerry.

| There’s no doubt Farah gave JM a facial with his forearm. Although against the rules that is generally accepted within the game and happens numerous times a very match.
I suppose the real question is whether Farah pushed his arm into JM’s mouth causing the tooth imprint (which was clearly visible on telly) or whether JM chomped. Unfortunately I think it was the latter, mitigating circumstances or not in RL biting is one of those sins similar to gouging which rightfully gets a long ban. I don’t expect to see him again in the WC.
So, the question now is who replaces him? I assume we can’t call up a reserve winger so it has to be from within the squad. I’d say Percival is the most likely option.

| From the footage I saw I think the decision could go either way. Yes Farrah shoves his arm into Jerry's mouth, but then it also looked like Jerry bit him.
I'm reminded of when Elliott Whitehead was done for biting back when he played for Bradford. I think it was a similar set of circumstances in that he just happened to bite down on whatever was in his mouth rather than going looking for someone to bite, he still got done for it though. I think his excuse was that he had recently been concussed and wasn't sure what was happening
Elliott hadn't done any similar before (or since) so I'm not sure that means much re Jerry's past record.

Yes, looking at the replay it looked as though Jerry opened his mouth as Farrah applied more pressure with his arm, I suspect Jerry was struggling to breath at that point as his nasal passages were being covered as well.
I see Bennet is sitting on the fence on this one with no comment, he should have backed his man by saying something positive in his favour.

Character means nothing unfortunately, Sinfields whole career would never suggest the headbutt he put on Dorn the other year.. As someone has already stated, there is a lot of roughing up with forearms in the face in every match i see, its quite clear JM bites him and you just can`t do that.

| If he is going to be banned, the least they could do is allow him to get his money worth and properly retaliate against that grub Farah.

| He will be a big miss for us if he does cop a ban. Bennett should have taken Eden in the squad, particularly as Percival clearly isn't going to get a look-in at centre.

If people think that Eden is the answer to our winger issues then we are doomed.

| Can anyone explain the disciplinary procedure to me. Will Wednesdays meeting judge whether or not he is guilty or will they simply determine the punishment?

Gotta agree there, yes he can finish, but a prop would have scored 25 of his tries last season for us (I reckon I'd have stood a chance and haven't played for over 10 years!). He aint no international winger. My opinion is that one of our best prospects for future will be Manfredi, although that doesn't help us right now if McGilvary gets banned (which I think he will be). We only have Percival, and maybe Ratchford, out there that could even play there. We could be in even more trouble than we already are!
