| Will they vote to give it to Josh Hodgson for a first Englishman. These are the front runners for todays awards. It is now down to closed doors deliberations, I reckon they will chicken out of giving it to Josh.
NAME CLUB POINTS

| What do you mean chicken out?
The points are given weekly, the reason he won't win it is because he missed a game and couldn't score points for that week.

He is in prime contention but missing that 1 game would have cost him.
What do you mean not all winners scored most points?

| Not even top 3 either. Unbelievable. Most Aussie pundits and ex-players tipped him to win it.

| Cronk and Taumalolo shared the Dally M.
Smith won Hooker of the Year.

| How was he robbed? BJ and Papalii hit great form and would have taken points not to mention the other sides they played. He got suspended and missed a game!

| It's still a bit of a Smith love-in with the NRL so Hodgson was always going to come second, even though I think he deserved hooker of the year by quite a margin.

Quite a margin over Cam Smith? Really?

| I don't think its bias, just the way the teams operate. The problem for Hodgson was that when Canberra hit form, Leilua and Rapana in particular would have taken points. When the Storm play well Cronk and Smith will invariably get in the top two as everything revolves around them.
FWIW I'd say Hodgson is right up there, but there's a bit less sense of control about his game than Smith's, and he also doesn't play 80 minutes as hooker most weeks, unlike Smith. If Hodgson improves again next year he could well take Smith's mantle, but he's not quite there IMO.

Position awards are not based on points.

| Cameron Smith is 31. Time is not on his side. Joshua Hodgson is in his mid 20s. He will get another chance. Perhaps 2017 will be his year.
