Due to an "unprecedented injury crisis" Salford have asked for this weekend's game against Hull FC to be postponed.
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/32481346
Presumably if you're Hull FC you tell them to get stuffed, and either turn up and play (hopefully handing you two easy competition points) or default the game (which potentially brings RFL sanctions as a result).
I get that they have a lot of players missing, but do they not have an Under 19s setup to call on? If not, are they really operating as a top flight club should be, or just a Championship side with a rich backer pretending to be a SL side?

| Ridiculous really. With 12 missing, they should really have 13 first team professionals available. That is only 4 players from the academy system required.
I'd bet Leeds, Warrington and Wigan could win with those numbers missing never mind field a team.

Exactly and 4 are missing because they have been banned. maybe the red devils need to clean up their act.

| I think it's also worth noting that the problems are exacerbated by the four suspensions, which are entirely of their own making.

| I'm sure there is an on going club issue with Tony Puletua over money owed to him?
So sort that out and there is a player they could use?
Otherwise use the academy players and move on? Embarrasing

| The RFL should make Salford play the game, and then fine them on top of that just for the cheek of them asking. It's against the Spirit of the game.

| It's worth something, just for the comedy value.
You couldn't make this stuff up.
Your players don't respect the rule book and then you want the game postponed because they are unavailable.
Every club in the land would be citing injuries if they get away with this stunt.
Even their spectators were away, due to illness

| According to Adam Pearson speaking to local journos, Hull FC have declined Salford's request.
Your move, Marwan.

| Even if Hull agreed to the request, which would be incredibly naive of them, at what point does it stop?
Suppose those players are injured for more than a few weeks, are Salford then allowed to take all of May off and let them catch up later when they have a full squad?
At the risk of repeating myself, I cannot understand why the 'good' Doctor doesn't hire a professional PR team to handle situations like this, which could have been done by privately contacting Adam Pearson/RFL. Instead Salford are now made to look just a bit silly, and no doubt we will be treated to more of the Docs bizarre twitter rants if/when Hull/RFL decline the request.

| Quote: Sit down, Waldo "Injuries are hard luck. Supensions are self inflicted. But if some of your players get stuck in traffic...
quite clearly a different and unique situation that impacted on both clubs, and seemed a fair move that both clubs agreed on.
Having 8 players injured is not a unique situation. You either patch them up, or play your reserves. When building your squad and club, if you choose not to have any reserves then you pay the price.
Another lesson in squad / salary cap management for Salford.

| Worth a try I guess .
Whatever the team is against Hull, if they play with the same passion as yesterday I’m sure the Salford fans will be happy enough & Radford gets a week off from being pilloried, win – win.
