That'd be one of the worst places in thr world to host a World Cup in any sport, especially for the spectators.

Not if a few billionaires are willing to invest a lot of money into the sport. However without that it would be crazy.

It's narrow minded viewpoints like this that have held the sport back for over 50 years...ffs have you no thoughts about how this could help the sport aside from the (misplaced/unfounded) worry about the speccies?

It's a ridiculous idea to have any World Cup be it football or rugby in the middle East please enlighten us how this would help our sport been in a country that doesn't even know what rugby league is

So that 53800 millionaires find out what rugby league is and invest their money in it.

Most of the UK doesn't know what rugby league is. UAE's domestic competition is sponsored by Nissan. I don't even know who Super League's sponsor is.

If they've got the money, and facilities to stage it then I'd have no problem with it. Although it would bugger up most teams pre season as it would have to be staged in winter.

I'd go. Though I'd prefer to see it staged in the Caribbean!

Temperature starts to drop a bit in Dubai from November and as they are 3 hours ahead British TV would want our games staged at night anyway.

I'm in favour of it if they can prove they will invest the cash and give us a big cash advance for staging it.

If not my more conservative choice would be England and France as joint hosts. Same format as 2013 except have France host games instead of Wales.

Would be a great opportunity to get wealthy backers interested in the game.

If RL goes for this it can never take the moral high ground about anything, ever. It'd be like touring apartheid South Africa. The UAE is rotten top to bottom.
