| So with bookies liking to only take bets on the Man of Steel market before the season starts, who do you think will get it this year.
If he is fully motivated Todd Carny has to be the stand out choice for me although I do think Daryl Clark could be in for a big season on the back of his Cas displays and international form.

| There's some strange odds there.
Jordan Abdull is a stupidly underpriced at 40/1. The kid has a big future but he isn't even first choice, yet he's a shorter price than Hall, Brown and Ellis to name just 3.
Kelly is an exciting player but regardless of what Jean says Rovers are a mid table team, and to win man of steel when your team finish 8 you need to have had a hell of a season, 14/1 is very short.
I would say Walsh is the most likely winner, but for value Gareth Ellis at 66/1 looks good.

| The problem with Ellis i guess is that he is also playing for a mid table team, so he will have to a hell of a season in a position where plaudits are hard to come by as opposed to the playmaking positions of the people listed above.
Daz clark for me, behind that warrington pack is pretty worrying for rest of SL

You're absolutely right, but Ellis is likely to be just as influential for Hull as Kelly is for Rovers, both teams should finish in similar positions, yet there is a big difference in prices. Kelly is more eye catching, but it's votes for by players, and I would imagine most players appreciate a big performance from a forward over one from a half back.
I get the impression that because we haven't performed well alot of people view Ellis as being a poor signing for Hull, but last year he was excellent. If he hadn't retired from internationals he would still be nailed on for the England squad, and if he played for a top 4 team his MOS odds would be no bigger than 20-1 imo.

| Hardaker at 18/1, and Chris Hill at 20/1 look decent bets.

| If Hull are going to do anything this year, Sneyd is going to be at the heart of it, 66/1 is a fair price for him

| I like the look of Escare at 25/1 - could have a great season running off the shoulder of Carney/Whitehead etc....

Look how well Morgan Escare did last year without Todd Carney.
2015 will see Escare rise up to a new level because (a) Escare will be sitting on Carney's shoulder whenever Carney breaks the line (b) Carney, being heavily marked, will send Escare through gaps in the defensive line created by opposition focus on Carney (c) Scott Dureau, if he plays, will have a freer run because of opposition attention to Carney, and whenever he breaks the line Escare will be sitting on his shoulder.
I think Man of Steel is really between five people: Todd Carney, Darryl Clark, James Roby, Albert Kelly, and Morgan Escare. Nobody else matters.

| Just a thought I wondering why no one mentioned Chris Hill, Luke Walsh or Sean O'Loughlin (fitness may be an issue)? I expect at least one of them to be a nomination and Jean do you really believe no one else matters?
I can't remember loads of fans saying Darryl Clark even being nominated never mind winning. I do think there will be someone not many have mentioned nominated.

| Stefan Ratchford at 40/1 is a good looking bet.
