You always hear the pundits and players going on about the backroom staff and there's no denying their importance. Who are the characters you've noticed over the years?

Mine:
Leeds: Billy Watts
St. Helens: Stan the man
London: the ponytailed kicker tea chap

I think it's great RL clubs keep people like these close to the club they obviously love.

It makes me think that, despite its problems, RL generally has it's heart in the right place.

He's their top metre maker this season I'll have you know!

Wakefield - Johnny Thompson

The London kicking tee man is Steve McGee, who's also the kit man. As far as characters are concerned I'd nominate the late Ocker at Warrington - they don't make his like any more.

Keighley's Jeremy Crowther - In his late 70's and still full time Football Manger / Team Administrator, as well as Schools Development Officer ....LEGEND

The late Neil Whittaker from Huddersfield was a great character and always had a smile on his face.

Hilda Hardy of Halifax. Supplies kits to SL clubs in her spare time too.

Keith Mills - Wigan
At the club as man and boy. Played there, Physio (in the days that it involved a bucket and sponge), Kicking tee man and then ran the club lotto shop.

Matthew Merrick at Cas - water carrier, official photographer, kicking tee carrier, honorary Cas squad member - since the mid 90's, I believe?

& obviously Mick Morgan

Er, as a supporter, yes (to be pedantic, as Fulham FC groundsman he didn't have much choice for the first four seasons!), but as someone actually involved in some official capacity, no!
