| Should sky try and agree the services of Vossy or do we have to stick with the three stooges (Eddie, Stevo and Clarke).
Think Voss and Carney are the future with a special guest each week, and also to try and bring some fun to the games, by now we all have a grasp of the rules even those who only watch occasionally, give them 30mins pre and 30mins post game let them have fun, would love to see some of the "footy show" added to our TV games.

Sky pay ₤19 million a year for ESL....they will do with as they please and as a change of Commentators will not add value to them or their advertisers......they will continue with what they have....for now......

OK, but why Phil Clarke as well?
His graphics are unintelligible, his comments are banal. He belongs at a sideshow at a circus.
The imposition of Phil Clarke on Sky viewers of Super League is a form of mental torture.

| I much prefer the idea of split commentary teams per game, rather than just have 1 set of commentators, have 1 for each game, and even more options maybe.
1 Set of people commenting all season on the games is neither any good or very interesting, i'm sure that Eddie would perhaps feel more invigourated if he was just doing one a weekend and could sit and listen to other commentators instead occasionally.

Totally agree.
The main problem with Eddie and Stevo, is that they cover every game and because of this they become predictable and a little stagnant and even though Vossy was superb and a breath of fresh air, even he would become "boring" over such a long period of time and covering top flight RL 3-4 times a week.
Sky should rotate their commentary team and bring in current players to freshen up the production.

Fine as long as it isn't Wilkin every time Saints aren't playing.

| I am getting a bit bored of all the drooling over Vossy now, he is actually very similar in style to Stevo. If some of the things he has said during the RLWC came out of Stephenson's mouth, there would be endless pages on here calling for his head.

| Has anyone stopped to consider one fairly important question.... does Vossy actually want to stay in the UK?

Very much doubt it. A great natural commentator is just that, he should be on each and every game until he loses his mojo. Nobody to touch that lad at the moment.
Who was the RU guy I wish we could have had - Bill McLaren? He could make London Romanians v Penge in a mudbath sound like the biggest event you ever witnessed. Or Motty, brian Moore, Ken Wolstenholme. Sid Waddell. Peter O'Sullevan. John Arlott. Peter Alliss. None of them could basically do wrong, because they knew their game, clearly loved it, and communicated that intelligently and consistently to their audience.
If you don't have someone oustanding, by all means mix it up. If you do - stick. And big rap for Nobby as no.2 commentator, a perfect foil to Vossy's brilliance.

It's not very important though, is it? It's hardly even slightly important. And I say that as a commentator.

| Also Eddie's shtick of 'T-R-Y' etc is definitely an affectation. If you back to the Wigan v Bath cross-code match (footage on youtube) he's one of the commentators on that. Actually, he's perfectly fine. When he concentrates on calling the game and not all the other he's not bad.
That said, there definitely needs to be a sorting-out of commentary teams with both the BBC & Sky. I'd love to see
BBC
Presenter: Claire Balding
Studio Summarisers: Jon Wilkin & Robbie Paul
Commentator: Dave Woods
Expert Summariser: Brian Noble / Jonathan Davies
SKY
Presenter: Bill Arthur
Studio Summarisers: Barrie McDermott, & Shaun MacRae
Commentator: Andrew Voss
Expert Summariser: Brian Carney

| I think the world cup coverage on Premier & the BBC has been a breath of fresh air. Sky has become stale & has not moved the art forward much. The problem I see is that as pointed out Sky own us lock stock & barrel & will only put in as much effort as they think they can get away with (look how little coverage the world cup has had on sky news?). They are not champions of our game they realy don't seem to care if we grow or not we are just a filler for when wendy ball is not on air, Just look at the moving games to thursday nights that shows how much we mean to them. I would love Premier sports & the BBC work together to put in a rival bid when the next TV rights round is on, To get us back on terestial TV once a week would do as much good as all the cash from Sky has done. I just hope the viewing figures & the good experiance from the tournament starts a few TV men thinking.
