| Can anyone explain why the current situation with London Broncos doesn't result in them losing their franchise?
No ground
Virtually no coaching staff - no medical staff
No spectators
No financial backing
Approx 1/2 a squad still on the books
Rumours of wage arrears of 2 months+ to some players that are out of contract/leaving
How much evidence does the RFL need to strip them of their franchise licence?

Nothing more than your post.
I have typed a copy of it up and faxed it to red hall, the inland revenue, the commons select committee and the Dalai Lama.
No doubt they will be stripped of all 388 competition points over the last 18 years and any remaining players will be divided amongst the Championship Clubs to use as tackle bags or in the case of Halifax, sex toys.
The only saving grace they have is that they are debt free, have never finished last or in a relegation position and haven't actually broken any rules or regulations, but I doubt that will sway his holiness the Dalai Lama when it comes to handing down their punishment

NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_9857.jpg |

| Maybe the rfl knows how poor the clubs management is so doesn't want to throw good money after bad? Or maybe they know London isn't as critical to the success of SL as some like to think? Or maybe the rfl just doesn't have the funds to allocate more to one club?

It's out of their hands now.....the Dalai Lama holds the Broncos future in his hands now

| I don't know if you noticed, but as of next year, all teams have lost their "franchise". If they have no team, no money, etc, etc they will no doubt end up in the bottom two next year and they cannot be saved anymore.
My only hope is they drop down, sort out a permanent place to play, get their act together, find a rich backer (Koucash style) and get promoted back into the Super League in a much better state than they are now. I think a strong London team would be good for Super League, but no point if they are just bottom of the table whipping boys. Winning teams get new fans, losing teams just depress current fans not win new ones.
Also, I would give them (if financially sustainable) a higher salary cap than the rest of Super League due to the ridiculous cost of living in London.

| Didn't they receive a licence for 3 years? Why would it be revoked earlier than this period?

Haha true though! It has been said they are already spending to the cap in recent years, either that is just grossly untrue, or being in London is rising the wage bill massively!

because Munchkin007, who joined this site in 2007 decided to use his 13th post to ask for it to happen!
I have received a Tweet from the Dalai Lama saying he is taking the request for London's expulsion under advisement from Pak Pong-ju who apparently is a big St Helens fan with a soft spot for Leigh Centurions.
Alternatively....I suspect we will know more about the make up of SL XIX after the RFL meeting scheduled for October 9th.

You mean like the 10% one that already exists for them?
In recognition of the higher living costs for London Broncos players due to their location a 10% London cost of living weighting allowance is applied to the Club’s maximum aggregate First Tier Liability (£1.65m in 2013) is available in addition to the Elite Representative Squad dispensation, subject to the combined value of both allowances being capped at the 10% weighting allowance.

My little flat in dingy Brentford commands twice the rent a flat in dockside Hull, yet the RFL reckon London is 10% more expensive
JB, you may have left East Hull but you somehow managed to get your norvun bias through customs....well done you
