Not English Enough you mean, Brough has decided he's Scottish this year.
Anyway well don Danny I would have had Peacock but both have had great seasons.

| Full list of awards
The award winners in full from the 2013 Super League Man of Steel dinner are as follows:
Top metre maker – Jamie Peacock (Leeds Rhinos)
Top try-scorer – Josh Charnley (Wigan Warriors)
Hit man – Danny Houghton (Hull FC)
Rhino Top Gun – Kevin Sinfield (Leeds Rhinos)
Outstanding Achievement – Stuart Fielden and Shaun Briscoe
Foundation of the Year – Leeds Rhinos
Club of the Year – St Helens
Young Player of the Year – Ben Crooks (Hull FC)
Coach of the Year – Paul Anderson (Huddersfield Giants)
Man of Steel – Danny Brough (Huddersfield Giants)
.
Just a query what have Saints done to get club of the year.
Cannot disagree with any of the awards really. Crooks deserved his award but i think Escare would have got it if Webb had not come back at the end of the season.

Built and run a new stadium and training centre in the midst of a recession (including charitable events, eg the St Helens 10K for Steve Prescott Foundation); helped Rochdale to be promoted (their coach is one of ours; they use our training facilities, etc); worked well with Whitehaven in our partnership with them; run all sorts of events and community schemes including toddler club, healthy living, expanding RL throughout the borough and in our outreach area of Liverpool (including partnership with the Liverpool Wheelchair RL club); managed our finances in an excellent way. And all that has been steadily built up since 2002 when our present chairman took over the club. I think an award is fully justified in recognition of a totally transformed Saints.
And we even have cladding all around the stadium now!

McNamara went to Huddersfield specifically to ask Danny to play for England. He then didn't pick him [apart from the Exiles match last year]. So what's the best half back in SL to do? Sit out the World Cup?

He didn't pick him at the end of last year because A he was carrying an injury and B his form wasn't good.
When Brough spat his dummy out no squad had been picked for the WC what Danny did was not even give McNmara the option of picking him. McNamara said he only wanted players that were 100% commited to playing for England, Brough clearly wasn't.

| The squad is only named today. Had Brough not thrown his toys out of the pram earlier in the season, McNamara would no doubt have selected him in the squad today.

| I think its good for our sport that Brough is playing for Scotland, just would of loved him playing in England squad for RLWC. If Great Britain came back McNamara still wouldn't of picked Brough! He loves his bromance with Chase too much who in my eyes is a joke selection for England. Well done Brough for MOS, wouldn't of complained if Peacock would of got it.

| Hopefully McNamara's decision to pick Chase over Brough backfires, Brough has been the best HB in SL and has more right to be in the England squad.

Nothing apart from build and develop a top class facility in Langtree Park, which we fully own and are the main proprietors of, not having to share or play second fiddle to anybody else (how many other clubs can say they have a new & modern stadium which they own and dont share?). The youth development has been very good, the academy team were on fire at the start of the season, yet suffered with the injuries we had as a knock on effect of this was the likes of Swift, Walker, Greenwood, Hand, Richards, Thompson etc all having to play in the first team as cover. These guys have come in and not looked out of place in the first team (again another pat on the back for the youth coaches at the club).
Community partnerships with Rochdale and Whitehaven have been formed and highly successful, Rochdale becoming champions of their league led by one of Saints' coaches and using the LP facilities throughout the season. Other partnerships, including Liverpool wheelchair RL, Steve Prescott Foundation etc have allowed the club to expand its network in the local areas, whilst at the same time giving something back to the community and I think they have done an excellent job.
Also, lets not forget since the licensing era was introduced, Saints are the only club who have fulfilled all requirements they were set by the RFL of the group that were challenged to develop their stadiums, and havent entered financial difficulty in this time so all in all I think its a fair reward for the progress they have made as a club over the past few years
