Strange given the strength in depth NZ have at FB. Tomkins to stadium off maybe?
AUCKLAND: The Warriors have got their man.
Two separate sources have told Fairfax Media the deal to bring Sam Tomkins to the club next season is done.
The Warriors tried to tick every box to lure the biggest name in the Super League to New Zealand, and it seems they have been successful

| Can't deny he is a great player and would much rather see him in the NRL than go to union. Good luck to him

| The exodus continues. Wigan continue to auction off their best players.
Next up: Harrison Hansen - who wants him? 100K, a few pies from pound bakery and a jar of Uncle Joes Mint Balls and he's yours.

| I can't help but think the Warriors is an awful choice unless Wane went with him, the club is a total basket case

I think warrington had their chance of signing Tomkins when Wigan tried off loading him to warrington as a junior! Warrington didn't want him because they thought if he wasn't good enough for wigan then he wasn't good enough for them!! GUTTED!!!

| Glad its been sorted. We all knew he was going to leave and its been dragged out for a long enough.
A little surprised he has chosen the Warriors but they must have offered him a great deal so good luck to him.

| Obviously nobody knows his reasons if true, but I personally think the warriors is a bad bad choice, he should be at a Sydney club or the Broncos.

The team has just won 4 in a row, including the top 4 scalps of Manly and Easts (Sydney Roosters).
The issue is what will happen to Kevin Locke. Will he go to the wing or to Wigan?
Also there is the talented full back Glen Fisiahi. Will he go to the wing or to Wigan also?
I agree with your insinuation about coach Elliot. However he is on a winning run for now.

| He'll play at 6 with the Warriors, it's less risk that playing him at 1, having said that there will need to be some shuffling of talent around as currently they have some real quality in the pivots.

No he won't play 6. The NZ Warriors already have Sam's former Wigan team mate Tommy Leuluai there as a partner with Shaun "Magic" Johnson.
Sam will be full back and pretty boy speedster Kevin Locke will go to the wing or to Wigan.

Glen Fisiahi has been awesome in the last 2 games. Looks like a real talent.
I think Tomkins goes in at FB. I cant see them playing him at 6. The warriors have signed Chad Townsend from Crounella for next season. Thomas Leuluai will likely move to Hooker to accommodate Townsend. As you say the big question is where does Locke go?

They have way too many now, if they sign Tomkins.
They were supposed to be getting rid of Fiend and moving Leuluai to hooker and Locke to stand-off, but apparently they want to keep hold of Fiend. Plus they have Townsend from the Sharks coming in for 2014.
