Not a bad game, but a real shame it pretty much hinged on a shocking video ref call. GI's try was a clear knock on. Even if they are saying that it was kicked out of his hands (fair call), it then hits his forearm and goes forward onto the floor.

I was thoroughly enjoying it up to that point, that was a shocking call by the V.R.

Farah was going for the tackle, the Aussies may be light years ahead of us with so many things, but, that wouldn’t have happened over here.

I agree with the forearm theory. If it hadn't hit it, I would have given the try. But other than the first twenty minutes, Queensland never really looked like losing, although NSW played well, as their goal line defence was absolutely fantastic.

Shocking shocking decision. People can argue in favour of Inglis all they like but once the onus is removed from the ball carrier to hold onto the bloody thing we're all doomed. Unfortunately that's the way the game is going these days - In both hemispheres.

Terrible decision - you couldn't even say for sure Farrah was trying to kick the ball out - to me he was slightly off balance and was planting his foot to overcome that.

It's good to know that the officials can spoil the game in Oz as well as here.

Real shame - showpiece event, massive occasion and it was trending all over the world, only to be effectively decided by a dreadful VR decision.

Was it Paul Gallen who had this exchange with the ref:

Gallen: "This is your first Origin game isn't it?"

Ref: "Yes."

Gallen: "You can tell."

Farkin disgraceful decision robbed NSW of any hope. And sin binning one player for running in when about 50 players have done the same on games over the past 6 years is ridiculously inconsistant.

I agree. Apart from Queensland's first two tries, there were very few examples of gamebreaking skill. Most of the metres made seemed to come from runs from dummy half (which apparently is only a Super League tactic...). It was definitely intense, but at the same time, it wasn't very entertaining. The style of play seemed synonymous with lower table Super League; a battle of attrition in the forwards, and a few scoots.
