| Official news from the RFL confirms that the last of 34,174 tickets have been sold for Elland Road on Saturday.
Lets hope we all make enough noise to bring about this long-awaited victory.
19 November 2011 ....will be as significant at 4 July 1970 or 11 November 1972 ? Hope so

| When there were over 40k at Wembley was Elland Road not selling the sport short? Why weren't GF and CC tickets also vouchers for say half price final tickets and have the event at a larger ground?
Yes it will look and sound good having a full Elland Road but it's just not amitious enough. Don't get me wrong Wembley was too ambitious and I don't expect to fill Old Trafford for an England game just yet but a 45-50k stadium may well have been full for an England vs Aus final. I do suppose though Elland Rd wouldn't have been full had it been Aus vs NZ so they were covering their backs with that one?!

| And if there had been 20k empty seats at Old Traffird people would have been saying "should have gone somewhere smaller"
If Elland Road is full, next time they can got to OT without complaint...

| I've just had a quick look on the RFL Tickets website and you can still buy odd seats.
It's obviously going to be a sell out but you can still get individual seats if you're quick. Seems strange to declare it a sell out!

| Take to Eastlands from now on. If that can sell out then take it to Old Trafford. If that sells out take it to Wembley. If that sells out take it to the Nou Camp. If that sells out take it to the Melbourne Cricket ground. If that sells out take it to the Estadio Azteca. If that sells out take it to Saltlake stadium in India. If that sells out then take it to the Rungrado May Day Stadium in North Korea.
That will get us a crowd of 150,000. Would be fantastic for RL. Be great for expansion as well (sorry flatcappers)

| As I said Old Trafford is too big for now but Elland Road is too small considering we'd got a crowd of over 40k at Wembley.

To be fair to the RFL they have to plan for the prospect of a Aus-NZ final, and I'd imagine the rent on Elland Road for the night is far lower than at other grounds. Also many Premiership grounds woulden't want a game of RL on the pitch in November.
also don't forget they were running a 'buy a group game, get money off for the final' offer, which will have shifted a few tickets. I think the RFL would look to raising the prices (and still sell the ground out) rather than go for a bigger crowd.

| The same size stadium in a different place wouldn't have sold out, there are other reasons to pick Elland road

| A slightly bigger stadium would have sold out but if it hadn't have been England in the final i don't think Elland Road would have sold out.
Even so OT is too big and the grounds with capacities bigger than Elland Road and smaller than OT probably wouldn't have let the game take place, no argument from me.

| Not a fan of Elland Road really but well done the RFL for selling it out, will be a great atmosphere I'm sure.
Only sold out today and if it was NZ vs Aus in the final I doubt that would of been in the case. It's in the "heartlands" too so it's not too far for everyone.
On a biased point of view, Bramall Lane would be a great venue for perhaps a final or group game. Smack bang in the City Centre, 32,000 and just an hour from West Yorkshire and an hour and a half from the likes of Wigan & St Helens.

| I think Elland Road is the best compromise all round given that the RFL had to factor in the potential for an Aus v NZ Final. No complaints from me, just glad to hear it's sold out!

People seem to forget that the wembley game was a double header, so there will have been wales and nz fans there, not massive amounts but enough... You also need to take into account that a lot of people in the london area took up ticket offers in the last few weeks before the event, and that before july the rfl had marketed this to everyone with cheap tickets available. People aren't going to pay for a final unless England are there. And tbh, where else could we go? I think weve sold a great amount but with 2 days left, like someone else has stated, how many extra would we have actually shifted? probably a few thousand at the best. The only sad thing is elland road has area's unavailable due to maintenance, otherwise it would have been perfect imo
