| As a Cas fan I am obviously chuffed to bits with the start we have made. We are playing some of the best rugby I have seen in years and I firmly believe this is more than a flash in the pan. But I am bias. What do you guys think? I am hoping for a top four finish. Do you think it's achievable. I just want to get the opinion of you good folk who follow other clubs. Cheers

| remind me of us a couple of years ago when we finished 4th. I reckon top 6 if you don't go on a slump or suffer any critical injuries.

| I will make my judgement on Cas after I have seen them play Wigan, Warrington, Saints and Leeds.
They beat Hudds, fairplay to them. Other than that they have not had to face any real quality and most of their games have been at home.

| Im with Odem, great start guys but we've seen this from teams before. Lets see how you fare in some of the bigger games befoer making too much of a sing song. What I will note is that you've got a great backbone of a side and I think finishing bottom in 08 and blooding youngsters has stood you in great stead, two or three world class players and you could find yourself in a similar position as huddersfield

| They were good against Huddersfield early doors, although Huddersfield were poor that night. Not seen alot of them since only bits and bobs on highlights. They look to be playing some good stuff and defensively they look stronger this year. But as already mentioned it'll be interesting to see how they get on when they play Wigan, Saints, Warrington and Leeds. They play us (Saints) on Easter Monday, which should be a good test for both sides.

In fairness we have also beaten kr who were billed as top 4 contenders, as well as catalans who have beaten wire and wigan , we play saints, leede wire at the end of the month and i would be disappointed if we dont get two points of those games and think we could get 4. Obviously it all depends on injuries (we have coped well with injuries and bans to hudson, jones, snitch, isa, walker, owen and mcgoldrick this season which is good) but if we can keep both halves fit we can make the top 4 imo.

I don't care if they have been billed as top 4 contenders, they clearly are not top 4 material, expecially without Dobson.
Catalans have been nothing short of shocking untill the last 2 weeks. Mainly down to their playmaker returning.
To finish in the top 4 Cas have 10 very important games. Hudds, Wigan, Saints, Leeds and Wire... home and away. They are the best 5 teams in my opinion. Cas have already taken 2 points from a possible 20 but they will need more than that, they will have to be beating these teams. Last season we took 12 points from a possible 18 against these teams. Without many of those points we wouldn't have been so far up the table. Games against the other side at the top are very important, I am not yet convinced Cas can take enough points from the other teams at the top to stay at the top.

Agree with that, we took 4 points out of the same games last season, then again, last season we took 8 points from the fixtures that we have taken 14 points from this season (changing the Magic weekend win against Catalans last year for the win against Wakey this year), so there's a definite improvement regardless of the order in which those fixtures come.
For Cas, as for all other clubs, the Easter weekend will go a long way to defining the season, with games against Leeds (H), Saints (A) and Warrington (A) to play by this time next month, we can come back then and start pontificating whether of not Cas are true top 5 contenders. I suspect not (yet), but it's a nice ride to be on while it lasts.

| I would like to think we could turn Leeds over, Saints haven't been as good as they can be. Wigan and Warrington away is pretty daunting. I do believe win or lose we will give each team a good game.

| having played cas at the kc two weeks ago, to say they were top and we were down in 10th, you wouldn't have noticed, (not going to comment on the ref), thats how close the league is imo, cas have benefitted from a 'kind' opening set of fixtures, avoiding the big 4 teams until the end of april or may, that said, you can only beat whats in front of you and it is refreshing to see them up there, if they can sustain this thats another question

| It's all about injuries, and specifically Rangi Chase.
Saints can function (without necessarily being at their best) without Pryce. Ditto Wigan without Tomkins, Wire without Briers, Leeds without McGuire (although not without McGuire *and* Peacock, by the looks of it). All would make the top 6 even with several key players out. Cas would struggle to make the 8 without Chase. If he stays fit for every round, given the flying start, they have a shot at top 4.

| Looking at your next eight fixtures I think Cas will start to find the season a lot of difficult. They've got the top five clubs and Wakefield to play. They've also got Quins twice in that period. This weekend Quins could well bounce back after a dodgy run and its a relatively short period of time between the two matches. Quins could trouble them this weekend and if they get sussed, be troubled by them in a few weeks time as well.
Easter weekend, higher intensity matches and mid season means your injuries can mount up very quickly. A build of injuries and fatigue coupled with some losses can lead to a loss of momentum and a losing streak. Not writing Cas off, just saying that there's a club or two every season that start off really well, but then end up on a downward slope when they hit midseason

| Its scary how many Cas fans are starting to build them up!!
Take a look back and yes we have won the games, but honestly how many of the teams we played actually played well.
That and we have a small squad so when the injuries bite how will we look??
Early days, yes enjoy it now but please dont built the pedastal so high that its a mighty fall if/when it comes
