| The RFL should make better use of rla certain video sharing website (Youtube)rl - it's another missed opportunity by the RFL/RLIF to sell the rights for online streaming, making it more accessible internationally. Sell it as an online only deal, and give them two/three games in say the European Cup or a game a week in Super League.
It'll set us apart from the rest of the sporting world. It'll give us exposure and it'll get the game out there. Seven's has done it, IPL have done it. Shouldn't Super League do it?

| Yes they should. The fans homemade 'big hits' videos go viral. An official good quality version would do the same.

The first?

That's the way to go, rather than Youtube. You can get paid that way.
IIRC, Sky's contract restricts SL's ability to sell online viewing (otherwise people would just watch that) but we do have Superleague TV, which shows match highlights.

| Its all well and good saying it would be nice to have x amount of live SL games on BBC/Eurosport/Youtube etc but Sky pay extra for the exclusivity to broadcast Super League in the UK. Taking that away would reduce the TV money considerably IMO.

| I'd like to know how much they sell the SL games to Ch9 for. CH9 treats them terribly, not shown nationally, shown a week late, shown at poor times or dropped all together, not started when season starts etc. I reckon showing on Youtube would be more lucrative.

| Try finding a single scrap of NRL on there.
Two fifths of bugger all.
Mainly pre-dates the NRL or is home taped gear. The NRL police it like nobodies business.

| That's because the NRL are run by 55+ year olds with no clue about how the majority of the population now access information and media. One trip to their websites will tell you all you need to know! Lets not forget this is the organisation that gave away its internet and mobile rights for free when they are actually worth more than $10mill a year!

| Don't recall saying I agree with the policy.
It is clearly another idiotic one of many. How clips of the amazing skills in the NRL would hurt by publicising rugby league on a worldwide platform is beyond me...only someone not thinking the issue through could reach the conclusion to exclude it from the site.
Or someone with narrow petty interests.
Probably a bit of both given this is TGG we are discussing.

All matches get put on their site don't they? And, isn't it though Big Pond, which requires software not available in this country? I remember at the beginning of the season I thought it was terrific that I could watch the NRL online, but it turned out to be an impossibility and a pain in the arrse.

you mean like when the RFL sold the american rights to ESPN360.COM a few years ago??...with ESL games shown live online and repeated online in america??
or like NRL games,4nations games & RLWC games shown on bigpond.tv??
or like when the NRL did'nt have a broadcaster in the UK so made it free for us to watch it via bigpond.tv..?
i've watched NRL games live, free, via a betting website all season..
you can even watch the atlantic cup online if you so wish....
don't think they missed mate...they've hit that one squarely on the head

| For which they'd receive 0 income (though YT would make a few bob out of it) - while losing a huge chunk of the fee Sky pay, as they're no longer buying exclusive broadcast rights - assuming Sky were prepared to even make their pictures available. Or do you suggest the RFL invest however many millions in setting up and running and outside broadcast unit?. Yep, I can see how that would be sensible.

| If the RFL can work out a deal with sky, for perhaps a Sky run RL service - would that be a solution?
