plus theyve increased the allowance for a long term player by $100,000.

the salary cap went up as well by around $200,000

and finally its always been there but clubs can get a third party sponsor to pay extras to a player, and these are unlimited

so greg inglis could have a contract at $250,000 under the salary cap and a total contract of $600,000

inglis broncos contract was for something like $250,000 - $300,000 and the rest from third party sponsors.

Inglis has chosen not to join the Broncos, I'd suggest little to do with the Melbourne disagreement and everything to do with him trying to find a better offer from somewhere.

i reckon its more he got up there and wasnt impressed with the club itself and particularly its head coach
