| Will Saints consider the history and take Wigan on in the final game at Knowsley Road? - I really hope so, it will add to what has been the best Super Leage play off series so far

I'm sure that will be the line up (although tomorrow's game will be no certainty)
But, it will be shame not to see Saints leave Knowsley Road with a semi final against Wigan

| As a Saints fan i want Wigan, and i think most Saints fans want that as well.
Playing Wire or Hudds next week just wont feel right, especially if you have the opportunity to play Wigan and beat them in the last senior game at KR.
Put it this way if Saints dont pick Wigan next week then most Saints fans and all Wigan fans will say that Saints are frightened of Wigan.

| Watching the last league game against Cas with Cunningham scoring in the last seconds to secure second place was classic viewing - imagine what it will be like with a Grand Final spot at stake. The more I think about it, the more I am desperate for it to be Saints vs Wigan

Not the ones I've spoken to.

Totally irrelevant. It matters not that it is our last game at KR. The sole important thing next week is for Saints to reach the GF.

We don't pick the strongest team in Super League when a weaker option is available and we're "frightened"? I'd say we're not frightened and that we are just using common sense to (probably) take a game against a team who haven't won at Knowsley Road for 19 years in Warrington. Aside from the fact that Leeds and Wigan will belt the out of each other at Headingley. Wire will have to achieve something they haven't done in nigh on 20 years and beat us on our own patch. Wigan managed that about 20 weeks ago.
Complete and utter no brainer. The winner of tomorrow night's clash comes to KR. You can keep your sentiment and worry that we'll look like we are scared of Wigan, I'd rather settle that score at Old Trafford.....if we get there.

Or Cunningham crying on his man boobs after Wigan spoil the big party?

All perfectly fine arguments and make sense if winning the trophy was the only concern. However, maybe I’m a romantic, but I think that sport is also about history and entertainment. I don’t have a picture of a Wigan Challenge Cup or Grand Final winning team hanging in my office, I have a picture of Central Parl where I used to go every week as a kid
Wouldn’t you want to remember the night Saints played Wigan in the final game at Knowsley Road for a place in the Grand Final – or tell the kids or grandkids in 20 years time? There is nothing wrong with sentiment in sport... it isn’t life and death

Rugby League is probably the most unsentimental sport on the planet. We happily change seasons, rules, uproot teams, and add names like Wildcats after the word Trinity - not to mention in the case, changing the name of grounds to GPW Recruitment Stadium.

| Logic says Saints should go for Wire or Huddersfield as they are clearly their best chance of making the Grand Final. However Leeds are two from two against Wigan when it counted this year. Do Saints really fancy their chances against Leeds in the Grand Final after the last three years?

| Massive game against a side theve already lost to ay home this season or massive game against a side they haven't lost to at home for god knows how many years (sorry Huddersfield i think you will lose i would love you to prove me wrong though!)
Either way the semis are going to be amazing weekend, for the sides that are left there are two tough games left whoever plays

Don't think you can ever write Leeds off but with Danny Maguire missing along with Jamie Peacock and Jones Buchanan, they pose less of a threat. So I'd say, yes saints will definitely fancy their chances against Leeds. Who Saints actually pick out of Wigan, Wire/Hudd is the interesting one. Should they pick Wigan and Wigan win, then bragging rights ref the last game at Knowsley Rd stay with Wigan forever, however if they don't then they've potentially got Wigan at Old Trafford, when I'm sure they would rather face either Wire/Hudd or Leeds.
I'd say on balance, Saints will pick Wigan and may the best side win.

I can see what you are saying mate but after 3 consecutive Grand Final defeats I don't think we can take the risk of playing the best side left in the competition (other than us )when we can choose (on paper) an easier tie. I've seen enough brilliant memories at KR to last me a lifetime so I can just about forego one more, even though it would as you quite rightly point out, top the lot to see Saints beat Wigan in the last ever game.
Seeing Keiron lift the trophy at OT would mean more to me in sentimental value than winning the last match at KR against Wigan. We have to look at the bigger picture here which is stopping ourselves becoming perennial bridesmaids.

If Saints aren't worried about facing Leeds at Old Trafford again then the choice is simple. They take Wire or Huddersfield and let Leeds beat Wigan, again. The only reason to pick Wigan would be if they want Wire to knock out Leeds and give them an easy ride at Old Trafford.
