The NRL Clubs are smarter than the English Clubs and hold the whip hand in they have the talent and the Comp to sell.
Cherry Pick the very best in Ellis and Burgess and sign a few $1.00 Bin bargains like Flanagan.

At the end of the day it all points to an early curtain call for RL in England.
Best players move to Oz, less journeymen move from Oz to England, whats the result?

A pretty dire game in the North of England.
Harlequins have failed
Catalans are close to crap
Crusaders have been torn with controversy and full of mediocre imports.

Whats left?
The battlers like Cas, Salford and Wakefield are replaced with Widnes, Featherstone and co?

Deckchairs on the Titanic me thinks.

Not at all sure the standard will drop across the league to begin with but then, with larger contracts avaiable, it will improve.

International rl will improve in one season.

Which top players have SL been Cherry picking?

I have no time for a League that does not build its foundations and Juniors and instead tries to buy quick fixes from another League that has developed its players.

The amount of second rate imports in the English game is a sad indication of the outlook of the game. Not 1 or 2 but 5 or 8 per team.

ps Its not that important a Country.
Australia see's the Kiwis as their rivals and england/gb as their whipping boys that they struggle to get motivated to flog time and time again.

When you see players like Flannagan and Tandy making it in the NRL I'm sure it will make all avg SL players realise it isn't as hard as its made out to be down under!
