| was never a fan of their entry when they were at the don valley
it looks like the move to brammal lane is getting some great crowds
do they have a backer?
potentially a very good place to expand to
and lets ignore the whole we tried it before, lets not try it again nonsense

| heaps of hurdles inc fanbase and money to overcome. As one of the manjor cities in the country and close for travelling fans in tehory they should have potential but if they can get 7,000+ fans regularly and find 3million income is very doubtful.

they gotten some great crowds now where they are in the championship so if they can stablize at 3000 or more and find a backer they would have some chance

| Don Valley was a worse view than the old (Brisbane) ANZ/QEII Stadium.
BL was always a better choice for RL.
Having said that, the Eagles had some pretty decent crowds over the years.

| I dont think RL will ever be more than the #3 sport in Sheffield (Football reigns supreme and Ice Hockey is very popular as well) but if they can get the public interested I feel they could be pushing for a license in 2015.
They've already got a couple players who could play SL imo, Menzie Yere was superb in the cup against Wigan.

As London have proved time and time again, fans aren't the big factor that some think. A backer is what Sheffield need....someone willing to underwrite about 1,000,000 a year for a few years until they can get to the 7k/8k Gates that make a SL club viable.

| shoudn't we be pushing for more mainland european team to make up the numbers in the ESL?
that way, sheffield & everyone else would have a level playing in a british league with P&R.

| At least they have a fighting chance at BL. DVS was the pits. If they can start getting 2k regularly then who knows?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Yes the 1100 against Batley and 900 against Toulouse is massive. SL certs.

Getting 1k regularly would be a good start. The £7 offer they're running at Bramall Lane seems like a smart idea - crowds seem to be up by at least a couple of hundred over what they'd have got at Don Valley.
