| Hopefully.
Figures from the Giants show that when games are on a Friday night 30% of our season ticket holders do not attend.
I struggle to get to Friday games traversing the A1 and M62 on a friday night is a nightmare even worse when the bl@@dy caravans come out.
Long live Sundays. Long live RL.

| Friday nights IMO are deadly for the game as they significantly increase the age at which kids can go to the rugby. The season starts in the coldest part of winter and not many will take their 2/3/4 year olds at 8pm in sub zero temperatures. On a Sunday that same game could be played in daylight with temperatures 10 degrees warmer and without the kids being asleep in the car on the way to the ground.

not disputing your figures, but I really don't understand that...at Hull we've grown our season ticket numbers by playing friday nights.
yes it was good to go to Headingley for a rare sunday game today, but clubs have to do whats most profitable for them. For Hudds this may mean sunday rugby, but for Hull Friday's are working.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| Was getting a tan today at Salford and we outnumbered the home fans, brilliant! But our home games can stay on a friday for me, much better atmosphere.

It is all to do with demographics of your fans
.
About 30% of our season ticket holders do not attend evening games.
My 3 kids do not go when it is an evening KO. that equates to 3 out of 10 from our family group.
I think that people need to look atthe demographics of our support. I am only making assumptions here on but it is based on comments from the club.
We have lost two generations of RL fans due to us being very poor through the 80s and 90s. a lot of them would have been kids who would be in their late teens, twenties and Thirties. these are the people who do not mind evening KOs and fit it in with a night out on the town.
It often seems to me compared to other teams fans that a lot of our fans are 40+, Women or young kids with their parents. 40% of our season ticket holders are Female These are the groups who are less likely to go to evening games. I think that this is what really harms us for evening KOs.
Huddersfield in building up it' s support is making a play for families. Kids ( and their parents) do not like evening Kos. Cold, dark etc. Why have a summer sport and play it at night.
In 10 years time hopefully our demographics wil change in a way that resolves this problem. But for now we need SUNDAY afternoon KOs.

| It is too easy a choice for the casual fan to stay at home on a Friday night for the TV gme instead of going to watch "their" team live, especially if the weather is bad. Sometimes 4 matches are scheduled for a Friday night when really it could be just one - the televised one. That way, you could argue that the TV figures would be greater.

Correct.
Load of garbage anyway. Wakey brought no more than 500-600 on Bank Holiday Monday with a 3pm kick off. For the sake of an extra taxi full of speccies from West Yaarkshire the Wigan club may as well stick with the Friday night games which has proven to be more popular with the HOME fans.

| From a purely selfish point of view, I prefer Fridays. Straight out from work and straight to the bar afterwards - no mucking about.
Today was a nice change but it does seem to take the entire day.
Leeds also have the problem of ground sharing. Having a "TV friendly" Friday night fixture list at least means that very few games actually get moved about at the last minute.

That for me is the reason I love Sunday afternoon kick offs. Get up at 11am, pub for 1pm, kick off for 3pm, pub again for 5pm, home for 7pm. Day well spent.

| Mind you I do remember the old Sunday depression hitting hard. Nothing worse than watching your side lose and then realising that it's 5pm and by the time you've got home and eaten the weekend has gone again. At least with a Friday night you can console yourself in the knowledge you've got two lie ins coming.

The Friday tv choices that I've sat and watched (when Wigan haven't been playing) this season would push me to a match rather than choose to stay at home.

It's very very easy on a cold dark miserable Friday night ( first 7 games of season ) to go to the warmth of the Pub and watch the Live Sky game. I'm a York fan but 4 or 5 of us go and watch the Rhinos now and then, we don't even bother going while May anymore, most of the lads who go are casual fans NOT diehard fans and won't entertain a cold friday night, pub wins every time till May!

| As a Rovers fan, ourteam still try & play the majority of our games sundays & it is nice to see a lot of primary school age kids watching. Personally I dont mind but would like all teams except the televised ones to kick off on Sundays as I am a shift worker & it is difficult to plan as I have to arrange holidays as every other weekend I am at work but that is just me & we can not please every one.
