A true success story in terms of 'expansion'. I remember at the time many dissenters proclaiming their failure within three years but they have been a great addition to SL.
This also highlights the benefits of having a local government on board to help its premier sports team's, recognising the benefits they can bring to the area. Hopefully the Dragons can go one stage further this season.

Anyone who has been to Perpignan will have noticed the enthusiasm that the locals have for their club. Granted, some of that is invariably due to the fact that a season's worth of English supporters have around €3m in their collective back pockets but even so, it's very clear to anybody that has visited that this is very much a "rugby city" - far more so than some of the supposed "heartland" towns. Every time we've been, the locals have been very happy to talk about the Dragons.

I for one appreciate France as a good as a heartland in rugby league as Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, NSW and Queensland. Some people soon forget that rugby league was once banned in France so it was obviously making an impact in order for it to be banned. |

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

this is expansion RFL style. zero input into the infrastructure required to sustain a top level club. nothing going into schools development or helping promote the amateur game in these areas.
where do they think the players will come from?
its a classic inverted pyramid scenario, top heavy with no foundations. thought the people running the game were intelligent business people
