| Who will the 2010 seasons surprise team be?
My bet is who everybody thought would be a strong contender last year but failed to show up after week 10, the Warriors. my feeling is they were under a hell of a lot of expectation last year and crumbled under the pressure and injuries to key players. This year i think they'll go under the radar and make the 8 as they still have a frightening combination of size and speed across the park while Wiki is back in the fold for inspiration. Brett Seymour should prove to be a good signing for them (if he can stay sober )

I dont think Seymour will be good enough and they made a mistake letting Nathan Fien go IMO. I think they'll miss out on the 8. They've got a good pack but the halves look poor and the likes of Mckinnon, Ropati, Moon have been disappointing, Tate needs to stay fit if that's possible but i just dont think they'll make it.
If the Roosters can sort there problems out on the field and off it then i'm expecting a big year from them. They've got a good set of forwards, good options in the halves with Carney there and the likes Minichiello, SKD and Perrett at the back. I hope Minichiello can stay fit and have a good year, the guy's had such bad luck with injuries that i just hope he can get some good form back. The only thing that might go against them is going with Carney at FB, IMO they'd be better off with Mini there, putting Carney and Pearce in the halves and Anasta at 13 but hey what do i know. Round about 4th-5th for me.

| Warriors have an old mucker of mine over there now called James Maloney. I hope he kicks on, he's a good five-eighth and it may be time for him to shine.

| Tigers - if they can keep Ellis and Marshall fit - Flannagan will surprise a few, I was surprised Wigan let him go - he is the best backrow forward to emerge since Ellis in the UK.
If the Rabbitohs don't make the 8 with their squad then Lang should retire for good.

| Alot of people saying Tigers, they'll need to be more consistent or they'll have no chance. IMO the Tigers are the same as Benji, hit and miss. One week they can be great and everything they do comes off and the next week they cant do anything right.
They've signed Taumata who's been sacked from 4 clubs already, Cayless - good but always injured, Tame Tupou - always injured, Moors and Daniela who weren't regulars for Penrith, Flanaghan who's only played 4 games for Wigan, Mitch Brown, brought Fulton and Fitzhenry back.
So yeah they've got rid of some of the dead wood but they could have just replaced them with more of the same IMO.

| I like the look of the Tigers squad this year also, but while the first 17 of the Bunnies look good, I don't think they've got the depth to be locks for the 8. Very few teams do.

| Souths' first choice pack looks a bit tasty though, and I think Lang will make them a very different unit. I can't see them winning the comp at all, but they should make the 8 and probably beat a couple of 'bigger' sides in the process.

sharks in the 8 is a bit optimistic. i reckon they'll improve but any position above 12th would be a miracle. but it is very hard to pick an 8, its just so close.
