Erm....What relevance does Rugby Union holding a game in its southern stronghold have to Rugby League holding one outside its northern stronghold?

| Peeps have their day to Wembley on th CC final. Would possibly worth a punt but you'd end up with 14000 in a 90,000 stadium i reckon

I am baffled that the expansion minded RFL are again stuck on the M62 when it comes to the international game.
England should be playing Australia in London at one of the football grounds.
The final should be somewhere outside the traditional venues. Eastlands would have been better for promoting the game in and around Greater Manchester, rather than Leeds which doesnt really need it.
Elland Road is possibly the worst stadium I have ever been to - in terms of transport, parking, facilities, atmosphere. So I am guessing it must have been cheap to rent it.

| I still don't know why they insist on going to Elland Road for the final, its a dump.
Might go to the game at The Keepmoat as looks like its on my birthday, but I won't be falling over myself to get to the Galpharm or the JJB.

Eastlands will only hold so many "non-football" events in a year such as concerts, boxing ect. I don't know if thats something the Stadium Managment decide or if it was part of the planning permission.
The Stoop is also limited to what it can do away from Rugby I believe.

Very much so.
Teams in the south are well supported ala Wasps and Quins.

I have heard rumour that they play a bit of rugby union in the Twickenham area.

as to be expected - the Aussies are whinging about something & anything.
Get over yourselves chumps, we are hosting it and playing it by our rules this time.
Blaming the English for this when an Australian is in charge of the RLIF.
They also seem to be confused about who is in charge, the RFL or the made up RLF, or the RLIF. Richard Lewis is apparantly the executive chairman of an organisation that doesnt exist.
