| After their historic world cup win, all we heard off the resident clowns of rlfans, like League Freak and Dally, was that rugby league was going to go through the roof in NZ and totally overtake union.
SO what has actually happened in the year since it happened? Anything of note?

I have. All I could find that was that they struggled to beat tonga and their only professional team nearly got the wooden spoon in the NRL.
I cant find anything about the mass increase in sponsorship and participation levels that you yourself declared.

| League Freak again failing to dish up any cold hard evidence.
A bit like when he claimed that Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Azerbaijan, The Pitcairn Islands and the Rugby League representatives from planet Jupiter complained about English referees at last years World Cup. I pressed for evidence again and again. Strangely enough nothing was ever dished up, i'll leave you to guess what the answer was.

| There was heaps of interest in the Warriors early on but despite falling attendances the NRL has caused plenty of interest, especially as the domestic Air NZ cup and Super 14 have been of a poor standard and the All Blacks have been poor.

| Well things have changed in NZ since the World Cup.
Firslty, numbers are on the up. Not massive numbers but i do believe there were gains across the board through out the country.
Secondaly, Secondary School numbers basicly doubled! If Rugby League can get into Secondary Schools in NZ then you watch all the talent to come out.
Thirdly, i think the Warriors averaged 15,000 crowds for the year. Which is the best they have had in a long time if i do recall.
Fourthly, the Test match against Tonga recorded a profit. This is the first time in a few years i can recall a Test Match in NZ vs any Nation other than Aus or GB to make a profit!! Of course the last Aussie Test here made $400,000 loss i think.
And lastly the media is starting to take more interest in Rugby League.
I cant see the Kiwis winning the Four Nations but the development of these young guns will ensure a successful Quad Nations next year.
Also the match between Tonga and the Kiwis was the best i have seen Tonga play in years. It was a really good Test match and might prove what the Kiwis needed before playing Aussie...unlike last year.

If I were a Kiwi, after watching last nights match I would certainly have a few dollars on them to win the final,...Only Australia could possibly beat the Kiwis, the Poms are absolute "NO HOPERS".....they continue to play the old fashioned "Carthorse "style of rugby which was OK 50 years ago,...no wonder they have won nothing against Australia since 1978.
PS You had 7 players missing out injured from last nights match,it worries me a little does this fact.
