How nice to listen to measured commentary. Intelligent, only getting excited at selected, justified moments. And even then, keeping it in proportion.

Agreed. They also don't dwell on referees calls if they call one wrong, they just get on with it rather than boring replays looking for 'a hand reefing the ball away'.

Also, one of the commentators summed up International representative sport after Akuila Uate's 2nd try when he refferred to the "Australian" winger as "the flying Fijian"

I thought the commentary was very good and benefited from the absence of Phil Gould who is the Aussie equivalent to Stevo for me (i.e. annoying and always trying to say something controversial instead of commenting on the game)

I think Eddie and Stevo are great personally, at least they enthusiastic and love the game unlike a lot of the miserable lovers on this forum.

I will have to agree. They may not sound as openly outraged when they moan about a decision but they are certainly a lot more childish about it than eddie or stevo, and if the commentators themselves disagree about a refs call they spand the next ten minutes sniping at each other about it. Its just not as immediately obvious because everything below the emotional threshold of 'your mother has just been murdered' has the same flat monotone in aussie accents.

My mother was murdered. I'm feeling pretty ordinary about it.
