| Rimmer appears to be hell-bent on leading us to this ridiculous set of 10-team leagues. I don't understand why club bosses, certainly in the top flight, would vote for such a thing.
Nobody I've spoken to wants this - more loop fixtures, fewer top flight English clubs. There is as far as I can tell almost zero demand from fans for yet another change to the league structure and especially for this setup. Is anyone out there demanding answers and challenging the RFL and SLE about the plans, representing the fans voice, demanding answers?
When will people like Rimmer ever learn that one of the things that makes fans drift away from the game are constant changes to formats and league structures and an apparent lack of any idea to address the problems we've got other than to shuffle once more the deckchairs on the Titanic.
What can we do to stop this??!!

| Stop blaming Rimmer - it would seem to be a Super League idea.

TBF as the poster above says Rimmer isn't in charge albeit he may chair the meetings.
The idea of SL1 and SL2 at ten clubs each is not new, it was voted on about 18 months back and rejected by a large championship club vote.
Not sure at all if it will go to the vote again or be imposed. But don't shoot the messenger.

| Has it been confirmed that this is even on the cards? All I've seen is speculation, nothing from official sources. Best way the get rid is not turn up to watch it, or just wait a few seasons and it will be dumped for something else anyway, an 8 team top flight for example?!

Indeed. And then when/if the fans don’t turn up and sky reduce the money again, we can solve that by cutting 8 teams to 6.
It speaks volumes for the power in the game at the moment that super league gets the majority of the criticism but the championship and league 1 teams will be the ones who suffer the most

| If it happens it won't last long. Its a terrible idea and it won't take long for another format to be proposed.

| Rimmer on the bbc podcast was very obviously pushing the 2 x 10. I have no idea why any of the Super League clubs would be interested in such a notion other than slicing the top flight pie amongst fewer clubs, totally the wrong reasoning if the case.

| If it were happening now, then these are your 2 divisions.
Catalan
St Helens
Warrington
Wigan
Leeds
HKR
Castleford
Hull FC
Huddersfield
Wakefield
Salford
Leigh
Toulouse
Featherstone
Batley,
Halifax
Bradford
Whitehaven
London
Widnes
If it is happening at the end of 2022, then it'll make for a interesting battle at the foot of the SL table with essentially the bottom 2 going down, whilst the real battle will be for mid table in the championship. I can't see London making the grade, whilst Newcastle have set their stall out by going full time....if they get their TV deal sorted, Monday nights could be better than SKY with Wigan v Saints IV
The other thing to consider is how promotion and relegation will work between the 2nd tier and those community clubs cast adrift.....the likes of Sheffield, London Skolars.....will there be a pathway for these clubs or is the drawbridge being pulled up? Clubs like Barrow have been fantastic this year....it would be criminal to take away their chance to continue to grow.

9 home and away against your own division and 5 home and away against the other 10.....never mind Saints v Hull, Saints v Batley will be impressive

If it goes to 10x10, it will be 3 down and 1 up !
Absolutely no talk of abolishing Promotion.

There can't be any such talk whilst the season is playing out can there?
Once it's all done then the difficult decisions have to be made like who is the third French club to enter the structure.
Back to the real world and 3 down means at this point the resurgent Wakefield Trinity, currently investing what they can smartening up their ground will have to go back to the Championship.
Of course their Chairman will take one for the sake of the game, unless Wrenners thinks otherwise.....

| For preference I'd see a 14 team SL plus an agreement to punch anyone in the face who bleats "We don't have the number of players". I think there's some mileage in enacting meaningful change with the threat of violence.

Exactly this.
So desperate are we for the proverbial silver bullet, that we keep making ever more desperate changes.
To think that pre SL we had a 16 club top flight which looks like becoming a 10 club top flight (and may include 2 French clubs).
The fans have on numerous occasions been stuffed and the delusional thinking that believes cutting SL further will suddenly have fans flocking back is beyond me.
IF 2 clubs are cast adrift, their support will inevitably drop and whilst the SL average attendance MAY edge upwards, the total numbers watching RL will fall - it's not rocket science
From 16 to 14 to 12 and now to 10 is just ridiculous.
Eventually, if pro RL survives, there will be Leeds, Wigan Wire and Saints left playing amongst themselves and they will sitll be wanting a greater slice of the TV monies. Maybe they could dig up Ted Rogers and have 3,2,1.
