| As a Giants fan, all year we have had to put up with the 'when will the slump start' comments, most tongue in cheek i must add, well isn't it ironic that it now appears that its the mighty, marvellous Wigan who seem to be having it rather than us, allowing the Giants to close the gap on them to a single point and blow the League Leaders race wide open with the 2 meeting at the DW in August in what could be a decider !!
No one questioned whether Wigan would lose games and were all waiting for us to fail.
Oh and before anyone pulls me or my club to pieces over this it is meant in a light-hearted way and more tongue in cheek winky winky banter than a bigheaded Giants fan or anti Wigan thread.

| Wigan need Tomkins playing or they struggle. I'm not saying for one moment they're a one man team but he's a great influence and has a massive presence when he steps foot on the field.
What's their wins to losses ratio when he hasn't played?

| I think it's more to do with other players missing really
When Wigan went 3 clear the other week I thought it was a done deal for them to win the LLS, just shows its not over till the last week!

| Looking at the fixtures for the top 3 I would say Hudds looks the best run-in, 2 tricky ones though....Hull away and of course Wigan away.
Much could depend on the CC. Wigan favourites to progress whilst one of Wire or Hudds will be out, that'll free up the loser to concentrate on the league and avoid a possible pre/post Wembley/semi slip up.

It's nice to have a 3 way race for once

That's nice.
You know wigan and huddersfield are actually very similiar in some respects. Both are systematic, well drilled teams who rely on a talismatic figure for that extra quality/creativity/x factor, whatever you wanna call it. Tomkins for wigan, brough for huddersfield. When either is missing, both teams seem to come down a few pegs.
Neither wigan or huddersfield will win the grand final IMO because they lack the all round quality. Huddersfield are a very workmanlike team who like wigan dismantle alot of their opponents with systematic set structures. But when you brush away the polish I personally see a lack of individual quality which will get exposed in the pressure cooker playoff games. That last sentence applies to huddersfield far more than it does wigan.
This doesn't mean neither team will make the grand final, just leeds or warrington will win it. If leeds injury problems don't clear up for the playoffs it looks like the way is clear for warrington to finally end this title drought.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that.

I think the slump comments were on the back of the giants having form for starting the season well then blowing it with a dip in form. you've done it a couple of times and this season you started well....which again attracted such comments.
This season you've shrugged that monkey off your back as such and have a real chance of challenging for a trophy..

To be fair, Huddersfield do have a fair bit of form in this area and if you were a betting man, Hudds would have been favourites to fade first. Personally, as a Wigan fan, I'm pleased that you are doing so well and hopefully it will result, at some stage, in extra bums on seats.

| We're having a slump? We should have beat Wire with 9 players missing through injury and lost to an in form Cas side with 9 missing again and with only a 4 day gap between fixtures. I thought Castleford were exceptional as well.
Its great to see Huddersfield managing to string more then 2 months worth of form together but let's see how they're doing come the Wire Challenge cup tie. That's the acid test of their credentials.
I'd probably focus on that if I were a Huddersfield fan.

| Trophies aren't won in June or July. Let's see how Huddersfield's form is around the end of August when the trophies start being handed out.
