| The Independent has today published the musings of a bloke from Leigh in their Letters section, who suggests that those people who have enjoyed/endured the RUWC might want to give League a viewing too.

| After an admittedly not hugely extensive Google search all I can find out is he finished playing rugby in France, it didn't specify league or union. As it just used the term rugby I'm guessing Union though.
Someone on another site suggested he was on St Helens' books around the turn of the century and then went playing Union in Warrington.

| He once had a trial with Warrington, I think. That's about it.

It's like this BBC article www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/34419249 about doping being widespread in rugby. By and large the article is about Union, but it only features on the League area of the site. Strange that.

| There is no media agenda against rugby league in England. Yes we have had to get politicians involved because it is so obvious but but but....
The Burgess reporting confirms what was already widely known.

Good example of how hopeless the BBC are. Thurston is a rugby league star and the doll was hardly what captivated a peak of over 4.2 million Australians. The game did. Smashing the AFL by some margin in the process.

| They obviously missed the other 1000s of articles on the quality of the game while including that particular one selectively. But as long as it's perceived...well I am happy.
