| I do like the idea of looking at tactics for coming week. I'd like to see what Raper and Kimmorley would say, and then look to see what happened the week after

| Would be a very short programme if they ever got Richard Agar as a special guest.

| Surrender and dominant tackles aren't related to tactics.

so coaches dont tell their players to achieve surrender tackles, they happen by coincidence

| Speaking of tactics, there has been a huge number of scrum moves in the NRL this year.
So much for that insightful poster who claimed scrums are a waste of time in our game. I seem to recall he also has a peculiar fixation for the Welsh union backline.
As I said at the time, scrums remain a crucial attacking platform. If teams don't utilise it (as the evidence above in fact shows they [ido[/i), that is an issue for the coach and team tactics - not a reason to remove the scrum from the game.
Irrespective of whether or not the scrum itself constitutes more of a contest.*
Leaving aside the scrum's imperfect design, I believe it is better to make them at least resemble the contest they once were.
*which in my humble opinion it should...
In the meantime, with the use of the 40/20 kick especially, they remain a crucial part of the attacking repertoire for a quality rugby league side.

| anyway :
unders line is when the attackers run a line back towards the PTB whilst an overs line is when the attack goes outside / away from the PTB
unders lines are used to catch holes in slide defences on the inside, or slow markers at the ruck

The Tigers yesterday were a breath of fresh air from the scrums. I dont understand why more teams dont try things. My HullFC team seem to just drop a forward out of the scrum and take a non-expansive drive to set up for the next 3 drives.

| bodies in motion refers to both defence and attack
in attack its getting runners with the ball carrier, rather than the ball carrier running one out
if you run one out its easy to pile on defenders and stop the attacking momentum with dominant tacklers
if you have a few runners going with the man the ball its harder for defenders to pile onto the man with the ball as they have to mark the decoy runners in case they get the ball
so having runners allows for quicker play the balls
in defence of course you want 2 or 3 tacklers on the ball carrier to slow it down and set your line
if you can "turtle" the ball carrier by getting him on his back even better.
the whole idea of defence is not just to make the tackle but to slow the PTB down so you can re-set your defensive line

We did but i can count on one hand the number of tries we've scored from scrums in the last 3 seasons.
