As a leyther working in Stockport I have seen first hand what Sale Sharks' owner Brian Kennedy does to clubs. Stockport County will go bust within a fortnight if they don't find a backer, and they let Sale in on the premise it was 'good for both clubs'. Sale took revenue for every cup of tea, pint and even things sold in the shop on Stockport matchdays.
When Sale move in Leigh have to be ready to fight them because Brian Kennedy is a very rich, very determined hard nosed man who doesn't care who he upsets.
If he can wipe out Stockport County he would make mince meat out of Leigh Centurions and Genesis who have much less say on what happens at LSV to what Stockport had at Edgeley Park.
I think a lot of Leigh fans cars should run out of fuel on the bypass and East Lancs on Sale matchdays, send them down Diamond Street*, see how much he really wants it.

so there goes RU in manchester
it was bad enough they were playing at sale but now thats failed they are moving even further away
together with the number of union clubs that had to move out of london it does shows the weak underpinnings the club game has in union
and if salford do sort their ground out it gives them more room to grow in manchester
good news for RL this

That's a good point, maybe if Leigh can see them off, it could spell the end of Sale. I think a lot of Sale fans will struggle to get to Leigh on a Friday night without a railway station because that's their fans main way to get to Stockport.

any rent paid will go to the stadium management company so it doesnt affect leigh one bit
with its smallish capacity and so far removed from where they currently are, its a sign of how desperate the owner of sale sharks is

You're probabyly right, Sale are probably making a big mistake coming to Leigh, but I think every fan would worry about those b*****ds invading their club, especially as I work in Stockport and have seen what they have done to them.

The rent would go to LSV woth whom Leigh are share holders so it would affect Leigh in a positive way (if I understand it correctly anyway, i'm sure Starbug will explain further  ) |

We've got Genesis and Blackburn Reserves paying rent along with us, i'm sure Genesis don't want a mud bath to play on, Stockport County had more games called off than any club in the football league this year with Sale playing friday nights. I doubt Genisis have much say in anything , however I'd guess gain Sale , lose Blackburn reserves , RU will kill the pitch for football at the level Blackburn want |

I hope Sale move to LSV, I know Kennedy has been down to the stadium.
Kick out Blackburn reserves and Genesis, and have a Rugby stadium like Headingley, just that the pitch at LSV is a modern one capable of withstanding the wear n tear of RU far better.
I also have heard Kennedy will be buying into Leigh RL, which is great news for us and would do our SL application no harm whatsoever.

Sharing the new ground with Sale has long been rumored.
Loathed as I am to idea, I think it'll be the most viable option the Sharks have, once built. Any objections the Reds may have (I believe John Wilkinson is not Mr Kennedy's biggest fan) would be about as justifiable as mine:
"Unionites can't swim, they attract enemy radar, they attract sharks, they nudge people when they're trying to kick, they always insist on sitting at "The Captain's Table"... they muck about. Imagine... the fear... when you go to sleep with a Union man on board and think "Oh God, when I wake up, will everyone be dead?" You can't run a club like that." |
