As a new fan to rugby league I am very confused. I last saw Silverwood in the world club championship where the interpretations of holding down was totally different to what it is today in the Hull derby. Can someone please explain the difference? Thanks in advance.

TBF i thought he did ok today and controlled the game quite well , i think he also did well to try and stamp out Hull KR's tactic of hitting/shoving players off the ball which i'm sure i saw about 7 differnet occasions.
He missed one or two things but all ref's do in every game and considering there was lots of off the ball stuff as well as technical stuff i thought he wasn't too bad!.

it was a game strewn with errors, but to be honest i found it more entertaining as a result.
if all teams and ref's played 'perfect' RL it'd be a bit dull to be honest.
I do think that a 2nd ref to police the ruck like in Aus is needed though

I thought the handling of Lauaki was shocking. He missed all of the tactics used to wind him up such as heads and elbows instead choosing to wait for the reaction and jump on that.
Apart from that it was a decent performance in a typical Derby.
